----------------------------------------
For some reason this version of Jack and the Bean Stalk made me think of a question that I had never thought of before: who was that man selling magic beans, and why did he trade one for an old cow that could no longer produce milk? He knew what Jack was doing and knew that the beans were magic, so why did he trade them? Was it to help out the family? Did he buy too many beans on ebay and now he's trying to trade them off so he does not have to look at them any more? I like to imagine that he takes old animals that probably would have been sold and slaughtered for their meat and brings them back to his own farm where they can wander freely around big, green pastures.

The second story I had never heard of before. The King and His Donkey Ears. It got me even adder at Hello Kitty than I already was. That girl is a little snitch and if her friend wasn't there she would have been murdered. I don't know why the king would trust a couple little idiot girls to keep a secret in the first place, but I thought murder was a bit of an overkill. He could have just imprisoned them or something. That ending with the reeds was way too creepy though. Gotta love eery whispering plants.

recently saw another adaption of jack and the bean stock but this was more similar to the childish one from, well childhood.
okay backtracking my post on the episode 1 forum: apparently all the episodes are 24 minutes long but divided into two part segments. mal has the wrong duration currently at 11 minutes. if they are counting every 11 minutes as an anime, then the series should be 26 episodes long. i guess this anime is so obscure that no one ever decided to correct it, but i submitted the change; hopefully it gets resolved
