Most of the time for me its not about the anime but about the first volume of the manga, if i read the beginning and it interests me I will start buying the rest of the volumes.

Mangas are for reading, not fapping.

You can always buy doujins or read some hentai manga online though.

lucky star is the best lolicon hentai doujinshi and anime.
prove me wrong.

You obviously haven't seen the masterpiece that is known as "Is the order a rabbit?"

Recently, I bought the first three volumes of Watamote (No matter how I look at it, it's your guy's fault I'm not popular!) which is my all-time favorite anime out of any genre.
This is my first time ever purchasing manga.
I enjoyed the anime so much that I just had to go and buy the original 9 volumes!
I only just purchased the first three volumes in mint condition, and hopefully they'll come in before the weekend so I can read them!

I had my parents bought me some dozens of localized manga of various titles during high school.

Now that I live independently from my parents and had started working, I did buy myself merchs, goods and official stuff of my favorite anime/manga. I just wished I have my own room and shelf to store them though.

Yup, Aria's my favorite anime. I loved it so much that I currently have the entire reissue of the manga, Aria the Masterpiece, on pre-order. Volume two should be arriving the next couple weeks. ^_^

I already read the manga after watching the series, but I actually want to support Kozue Amano's work. The series genuinely changed my entire outlook on life, so I owe it to her.

Yeah, I enjoyed both Hunter x Hunter anime adaptations so much that I bought all the manga volumes that have been released so far, and I continue to buy them whenever a new volume comes out.

I also enjoyed the Death Note anime so much that I bought all the volumes of the manga and also own the complete anime series on DVD.

There are also anime I enjoyed but only bought 1 or 2 volumes of the manga.

I also bought the first manga volume of Yuragisou no Yuuna-san BEFORE the anime started airing (but the anime had been announced).

I did it only once and already regret it, will never do it again before confirming that I still like the series after it is completed.

I was a crazy kyo kara maoh fangirl and bought the manga and LNs without a second thought (I also bought its bluray box sets and musical dvds). I wish I could send myself a D-mail saying not to buy them.

Yes actually.
If I really enjoy some anime I usually buy the source material.
This goes for both manga and light novels, which ever the anime was based on.

Bought a volume of kaguya-sama because the anime ending was garbage and I wanted to see what'd happen next but if I'm honest I haven't really found it that interesting, now that I know already what the anime's like, the manga seems...lifeless.

I've started reading Horimiya and I'll probably just continue that instead, it's fairly nice and I don't have anything to compare it with, which helps. But I think I'll just avoid buying manga to see what happens next, unless I really can't stop myself.
"The problem with defining even an aspect of your personality by something that you like, is that criticism of that product appears to you to be criticism of you personally. I find it to be a very harmful attitude, [...] you can't rationally discuss a product because you've started to define yourself by its very existence."

Yes in the past when anime really had an impact on me, but not lately.
-fruits basket, thank god they're remaking it now
-ouran host club, which i hope they'll remake too lol
-mermaid melody, which is pretty differenr than the anime but good in its own way
-death note, which works better as a manga imho
-shugo chara, but i wish i didn't
-rozen maiden, but i wish i didn't

I think that lately i don't enjoy anime if they're adaptation of some manga, weird, never noticed it before.

I mean first off that's the main purpose of anime anyways to push manga sales and merch.

As for buying, I haven't bought any myself but illegally only read Akatsuki no Yona after watching the series like what four years ago.

JoJo's part 1 and 2. Maybe I'll buy more but it's a bit expensive so little by little.

The other mangas I bought or I am currently buying I read it before anime even air, like Yakusoku no Neverland. I usually read manga first, then anime.

The only time I ever paid for any "weeb shit" was for the first volume of Spice and Wolf light novel, because I enjoyed the anime, read the original light novels and enjoyed them even more. I'm planning to buy the omnibus of all 17 volumes once I stop being broke, hopefully it will still be available by then.

Not really, I'm an anime-only consumer and if I want to learn some differences between manga version and anime version....well for that matter there are the wikis. No need to buy anything.
