| Y'know, I just read that and was about to post it here, haha. It's an eye-opening analysis of Battery for sure, and makes me even more undecided about what score to give the show. Sadly I don't think awareness of the subtext will actually affect my enjoyment of Battery, as it's still a rather poor show narratively speaking. |

Maybe they should have made the subtext a bit more obvious to make it stand out cause i'm pretty sure, not a single person caught on to this besides the author of the analysis (sure, there were some who felt it was shounen-ai-ish, but not to THIS extent). |
| I fail to see how this subtext improves the show in any way. It's one thing to recognize a problem, but what exactly are you trying to say about the problem? What diagnosis regarding Japanese homophobia are you trying to convey to your audience, Battery? That it exists? Of course I know it exists. Say something interesting with your diagnosis. |

| Its funny because I was thinking while watching that some of this stuff seems pretty homosexual as a joke to myself (not sad at all).... stuff like the bike riding and the princess bs. And then I see this thread and thought oh man, if this has anything about BL relationships..... im dead. I clicked the link...... Im dead. BTW, I don't agree with their analysis. |

| I can't believe someone could possibly write that much about such a bad show. Their interpretation is their own interpretation. No point in arguing over it. But to write this much about Battery? lol |

| Urr.... sorry, but I'm not going along with that theory at all. After all, this is based off a children's novel series originally released in 1996. Just because its an all boys cast and they are becoming friends makes it suddenly have tons of gay subtext? Geez... I'm going to keep it innocent: about a boys baseball team who are going through puberty (so it comes with roller coaster emotions [but it is kind of weird that they act way older than they are) who love baseball + unnecessary extra drama. Bizarre that the other team player kept calling the boy princess... BL crap for fans? Could of done without |
