The Junko mind games continue~

Looks like Chisa was brainwashed and corrupted by despair after all I'm not even surprised considering the hints she already gave. Those creepy eyes though...

Not only that but Junko corrupting the other classmates gave me the creeps. Poor Nanami :<

Suwabe-san's character lost... though he did able to defeat many underlings of despair girl. So he loves his friend, not the teacher. She ordered him to betray his friend.

Everyone except gamer girl is lead to the judgement room, and just "punished" despair girl without doing judgement. She wants to brainwash the class by seeing her pain and dead. Wow, Narcissist / lucky guy is narcissistic even if he became despair. The game girl, almost dying, talking to long hair guy, who cried picking up the hairpin after her death. Memory of body remembers even though there's no memory of another guy...

Got voluntarily spoiled because I'm afraid of this episode. I have a quick question before I decide whether or not I should watch when it's out: was Nanami's torture scene more gruesome than Yukizome's torture, the Student Council mutual killing, etc.?
There's a limit to what I can handle.

From what little I saw, Chisa's torture was completely nothing compared to what is happening in this episode

So, my japanese is not 100%, but it appears that she doesn't ask anything of him yet... Maybe it has to do with DR0 (security stuff) or Mirai-hen (she does ask him to betray Munakata after all, maybe it is about concealing Chisa's despair?)

I watched it RAW and honestly... it's basically 15 minutes of torturing Nanami, and her classmates falling into Despair (Tsumiki style, like crying and moaning) just by watching this happening. I hope subs will make sense of this because I fail to see where the brainwashing part comes into play, and it looks random overall.

From what I've seen, they're just locked in a class trial, watching Nanami's execution (a long torture sequence followed by a brutal death), and they progressively cry in horror, and at the end they're full despair with the twisted eyes and the moaning. In the meantime, Junko delivers a speech and taunts Nanami, and Komaeda seems to enjoy the execution from the outset.

As far as I can tell, no. They enter the class trial completely sane, then Junko broadcasts Nanami's execution, and they progressively despair just because of that. It's a group thing, they all fall into despair because they watched Nanami getting executed. Except that they don't end up sad and broken, they end up in the Tsumiki state of despair (crying + moaning) for no apparent reason. With the exception of Komaeda who seems excited very early and Tsumiki who's enjoying it right off the bat.

Huge Danganronpa fan. Played every game and plan to read all the light novels. But I'm sorry this Despair side is trash lol. It's just a torture fest. I'm hoping the last episodes will got into the present to show how they got on the boat to escape Jabberwock because this is getting really stale. There is no need to play this out any longer, okay we saw the second VN cast go despair. Let's move along now.

i felt very very dissapointed with class of 77th brainwashing
they forced to watch one of their classmates get brutally killed and that's it?
yeah i know it was nasty, but come on!, that supposed to wasn't enough to turn them into despair,

at least Chisa is more make sense since her body tied up in the chair with her eyes forced open and there is Mukuro messing with her head. but they're just standing there watching Chiaki get tortured when they literally can just close their eyes and ears. the way they turned into despair just cheap and stupid

and this is might be what happened in future arc when Munakata stab Juzo

Sakakura : why?
Munakata : You know why

What Munakata thinking : You will turn into Zetsubo sooner or later just like Yukizome, so i will kill you before that happen
What Sakakura thinking : oh shit, he found out that i'm a gay

It's just not fun, that's my problem. Maybe if there was some more slice of life in the beginning but this darkness devoid of comedy is wearing thin on me, it's been going on too long. It feels like they are just padding it to go on longer.

I think they were put into despair because of Junko torturing Nanami still makes sense, since Nanami is their Class Leader, the one who did very much to make everyone becomes closer (Well, Chisa did very much to make that happens too).

Basically, like Komaeda said, Nanami is their hope.

Their teacher was in danger, Nanami cleared their doubts and managed to make them want to save their teacher. And yet, instead of finding their teacher, they had to watch Nanami being tortured and could do nothing to help her.

And since their bond is really strong, it must be really sad for them to watch one of their friends being tortured sadistically.

In the end, they found out that they stand no chance against Junko and fell into despair.

They had lost their hope

Holy shit... I definitely didn't expect that, that's the most brutal execution, why does Nanami get all the gruesome executions anyway ?
And mostly, why did she manage to survive getting stabbed all over the place just to talk to Izuru and die ?
10/10 Would recommend to sadists
Oh damn, I don't want to continue the show anymore ;_; (This is what I say but I'll still finish it since I loved to play SDR2 lol)
Izuru crying at the end was touching, and the classmates drowning into despair was just both fucking creepy and cringy.

At least Sakakura is gay lol, at least we know what he wanted to confess to Munakata before getting killed(well actually most of us already now but it's funny to see how he looked like when he was taking a look to Munakata's photos xD )

This begs the question. Did Izuru voluntarily put himself into the Neo World program? Who the heck could capture someone that has every talent and even more hax luck than Nagito does? Izuru in this episode does not turn into despair and some has hinted he has a bone to pick with Junko.

And while Chiaki had good intentions and did not deserved this, she doomed her class and the entire world.

So sad, indeed.

Honestly, there's nothing that can justify this outcome - they were like this RIGHT AFTER Nanami died brutally. This is not sadness, defeat and resignation, it's creepy excitement and twisted despair without the brainwashing, brain-messing parts.

It was poorly written, and that's a shame since the whole point of the Despair arc was to get to that.

Was looking through the subs and man did they ruin his arc. The whole episode was horrible. Sakakura losing somehow? And the rest is watching Chaki die brutally? Wtf? They fall into despair because of they are forced to watch. What a weak way to see that happen. I was expecting a lot more, the whole point of this anime is to see the Danganronpa 2 cast fall into despair. Yet it's just some shoved in half baked scene, they would rather let us see Chiaki be tortured, let's not focus on the point on the anime. Let's just do torture porn. Do disappointing, easily the worst Danganronpa series. Future side is so good too.

I thought we were going to see Junko slowly pull them to her side, one by one. Since that's what the game says happens. Horrible writing Kodaka, I expected better. Just lazy and unnecessary.

i think it's clear that all of RoD voluntarily put themselves into NWP in order to upload Junko's avatar into their body. Junko said this in last trial of DR2

and yes i think this is the start of Izuru rebelling against Junko. and this is just my theory. but i think AI Chiaki is created by Izuru, cuz if AI Chiaki created by AI then it means that she had some contact with FF member and Monomi/Usami should be the only obervator in NWP. but Izuru altered and forced the program to accept Chiaki as 2nd observator before uploading AI Junko into NWP

Even since I start watching this episode I knew something bad would happen to Nanami Chiaki and had a feeling of that is not really a goal of hope , but a goal of despair.
My heart want her to survive but I still had a feeling that she died.
Everyone went on despaired Fever.

Izuru crying in end, Hinata awakening, maybe somehow made that Nanami AI or what.

I knew Nanami is going to die in this episode but it's really cruel and the torture is too long. Surprised that Kamukura cried tho.

tbh still disappointed on how 77th class fallen to despair. The whole point I watch Zetsubou-hen is to know how Junko made them fallen into despair one by one and they said Junko's despair is far more dreadful than any other. Yes surely dreadful /s.

Sakakura confirmed gay and not in love with Yukizome. Really didn't expect love triangle centered on Munakata.

I also think the brainwashing thing a bit ugh. When I played the game I thought Junko had manipulated them ONE BY ONE using their sad pasts and stuff to make they realize how their life was bad and everything. But ugh. Well. I'm not that mad at it, but I expected so much more.
Also, seriously, all this blood and torture and shit... Idk. If they intended to make me feel the despair, well, they're doing it right. I had to stop the episode a lot of times because I was nervous as fuck. ughuyfdshgcujuiwokfd I would be sad AND glad if they had just showed us Chiaki's dead body (or only her final moments with Izuru). They could have given this time a better use. Like making Junko manipulate everyone one by one and stuff.
