No wonder there's no hype - the game is pretty obscure outside of Japan. Myself, I've always been interested in it, as it looked like a pretty unique game among the otome ones (which I'm almost never interested in), though I didn't have an appropriate game console (and even if I had, I wouldn't particularly want to play with a script/dictionary in my hand, anyway), so I'm surprised but very happy about the anime adaptation.

AFAIK, it has a cult following in Japan. "Cult following" in the original sense of the term - "a small, but dedicated group of fans", not as in "the Star Wars fandom".

I wouldn't be hyped if I were you the story in the game was a mess so many plotholes/unexplained things.
Not to mention being very repetitive, the guys don't even have much of a route its mostly common stuff with small detours and yes i've played it.

One can only hope it won't be a complete trainwreck and atleast will be entertaining, they are even
adding some anime original character which worries me...
In short watch it for the bishies/seiyuu but don't get your hopes up for something decent.
