I really hope so. It is truly one of the best of its kind. The light novel sales have been pretty good. I feel it came out at a bad time for the MAL fanbase. People here were tired of "generic" trapped in a game world. And judged it based off oh this has fanservice must be bad.

I'm pessimistic, which is sad, this series was a 10 for me, I absolutely loved its style, the plot, the characters, the fact the characters occasionally die...it's all awesome :D

I would love to read the light novel in the meantime, is there an English translation of it in existence?
mind you, I mean an actual physical copy, with paper and all.

well, the first volume will be available in the 6/6, which is 9 days from when I'm writing this.

Now, the series covers the first 2 volumes, and only the third(due to 10/10) will be new material, correct?

Since Koe no Katachi has a very high rating her on MAL, rated by nearly 100k users currently should we try to upvote the movie on the worlds largest database related to films? This movie only has around 4,5k votes at the moment. Let's all vote and make the rating higher?

I think they made a incredible backstory, it could become a mainstream, we know nothing about the real reason why they are there, and they could link their story with others parties, plus they are in the "begginer" area...

i would love season 1, 2, 3,...10...50

Grimgar will continue to do the retake work for DVD. Depending on the number of talks, I plan to refine quite a bit, so I would like to think that it was good to have it handy. Since the main work has gone down, I want to raise the quality of the reticle cut while giving time to parts such as movies and shooting. I also want to draw myself.

There is yet to be any announcement of a second season, however sales were good and there has been no official cancellation of the series. There is enough source material and it hasn't been a super long time since season 1 finished so there is still hope.
Basically the jist is that it will be best to wait for 2018 for the slim but still existent chance that there will be an announcement for season 2 and otherwise read the ln. I mean If overlord is getting a season 2 after all this time there is hope for this.
Again I know this is an old discussion but I wanted to help in someway for other people who may be confused or annoyed about the lack of announcement.

Well, I'd give one thing for A1, they did the character model right.
Love the characters' detail/ fit body shape, and the art-style is very consistent for A1 Picture standard.

Seriously the soul of the show lies with characters, and I'm glad they didn't mess that part up.

Tbf, the last part is not really Kirito mode.
The boss is heavily wounded, and lost one eye sight thanks to the previous team co-op.
Mc hit the other eye, leaving the boss completely vulnerable , so he's able to kill it.

Well Overlord is nice.

But I definitely agree that this anime deserves a 2nd season much more than those two.

I just finished this anime and honestly it's such a hidden gem. It really depicts what life is like for them in this new world. They start out like any level 1 adventurer and I love that they gave so much attention and detail to their interactions with each other. It's refreshing to see an anime with a great plot line and naturally flowing character development. I hope they get a season 2!!!!

Rewatched this masterpiece for the 2nd time after 2 years of its realese, and I can say that I'm still hopping for it to come back, even tho it had some animation mistakes (last episode), everything else was godlike, sadly no 2nd season.. Just like BTOOM

Rewatched this recently, the backgrounds are pretty gorgeous. Didn‘t rmb how blatant some of the fanservice were tho.

Anyways... there will will be a bluray box and a new ost to be released next February. So I guess the series is not completely dead and we may still hope for a S2?

There are two characters in the ost cover I don't recognize. Are they future characters or are they just anime representations of (K)now-name?
They are just anime representation of the singers, as shown on (K)now-name's website.

Really love this anime. The animations were gorgeous, story is properly developed and well paced. By the speed of progression of the story I think it would take at least a 100 episodes for it to end though. So 12 episodes felt too short. Really hope that this gets a second season one day.
