For high divorce rates, I mean. What I think is that, it's not that early marriages are the ubiquitous 'bad' out there. The real issue is that, people in their 30s are just fed up of jumping from one partner to another and so they settle for just one; no matter how much they may have to punish themselves for it, or have to lower their expectations etc. A mentality is on the rise: The grass is always greener on the other side. As soon as the relationship's spark wears off (which means the partners should settle down), both partners start looking for something new only to repeat the procedure till they've had enough of prancing around.

I'm not going to compare marriages of the past with the marriages of present; because let's admit it, the women were severely at a disadvantage back then (well, now men are). I'm only going to compare the mentalities. I've never heard someone talking of 'growing up together' or fixing their partner's flaws. In a relationship, partners are also teachers of each other. Yet that role is rarely assumed by anyone these days. Often, teaching your partner is confused with 'invading their space' like for fuck's sake, what fucking private space exists anymore within you and your partner?! are you even in a relationship? Obsession is a far off thing. But, nowadays, even asking your partner to fix his dressing at home is considered an 'invasion on privacy' - okay, it was exaggerated but ye get the point.

Nitpick.

Fuck marriage. I don't need a piece of paper from the government to validate me or my relationship.
It's just a social construct designed to promote monogamy anyway.

It's okay. I felt bad for your mom too when I left her single and pregnant.

Sorry for my strong faith in 'an eye for an eye', but these kids (Izumii is an alt btw) need to be taught a lesson.

Figure your mom always shaved before we went on with it. How does it feel like to be a son of a thot?

And you're still salty for not even getting an online girl fall for you. Boy, you are not just ugly as fuck but your personality sucks also.

It's the perfect storm. Helicopter parenting, education coddling, dysfunctional gender dynamics disincentivizing long-term marriage, a lack of social skills caused by near constant immersion in online communities, a lack of participation in civil society, unions, politics, and business by young people who don't understand how it relates to them. We have romanticized relationships to the point that we have forgotten that they entail hardship and growth in equal measure to their other components.

Don't know. But the fact that he's familiar with Battosai and knows about me only points me that he's someone's alt. Remember which MAL member got banned before May..

Actual response people should go for marriege only when they are 110% sure that life with their partner works out for quite some period, and even then it is not guaranteed that things will not turn into shit after awhile. It is just way to please family members really, otherwise it is pointless in my eyes to marry esp if 2 of people were in relationship for extremely short time, rushing it is retarded.

But marriege may not even be cause for people change in first place, many couples just find it easy to blame on it, for sudden changes while in reality things may as well stopped working out way earlier then that.

Everyone knows marriage is the last attempt at saving a failing couple. People fall in love, and when things turn stale they make children, buy a house and get married in that order. Once they did all that there's nothing left to try and fix their relationship, they divorce.

"Dating culture." Lol, do you mean the offhanded refrains of “Tinder sucks!" followed by more furious swiping? We don't want to admit it to ourselves, but we are turning our thumbs into some kind of spiritually numbed executioner. What a disaster.

I certainly don't think it's just early marriages that are to blame for divorcees. I think you made some good points in your OP.
It often feels like we're living in an age where we're scared to offend other people, and as a result, we tend to be less honest, especially with those we're close to because we're worried it might affect the relationship. Whereas, a lot of the time, not being open and honest is the thing that tends to lead to a relationship's downfall.

The problem isn't when couples get married, it's why they get married.
