| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- Although I don't approve of her methods, Holo's cleverness in using the apples to scent the pelts seems undeniable. A fifty percent increase in profits for such an expensive item of trade is no small feat. I still love the portrayal of economics in this series. Currency speculation and inflation certainly isn't a plot point you could find in many other stories. I like how much detail is given to Lawrence's insecurity as a merchant given how quick of a learner Holo is, which contrasts with the joy he takes in explaining concepts and generally feeling relevant thanks to the experiences and knowledge he has which Holo does not. Their relationship feels quite nuanced. |
