How good Arslan Senki is compared to Legend of the Galactic Heroes?

Both are written by same author, Yoshiki Tanaka. I'm still holding Arslan Senki at ep 2. Does AS has deep political and military intrigue like LotGH? No spoilers please.

It's not as great as LotGH, but it's a good show in its own right. It's got plenty of political and military intrigue, and you'll probably at least enjoy it if you liked those aspects in LotGH.
