| Dont see why people hate the ending soo much, it was not the best possible thing, but it felt rewarding, since at least yomi is with kagura, but I found stupid ken not having yet confessed he loved her. |

| I'm all for a happy ending, which raised my rating to a 8/10. I like how the plot device of "The Power of Love" was used several times in this manga, especially when Michael brings it up. It's poking fun at other media carelessly using it. I think of it as a half serious device for Ga-Rei. It makes me smile every time they mention it, which is good enough for me. Seeing a blushing Yomi really brightens your day as she has been the antagonist for the whole two arcs. I don't get why people hated on the yuri parts so much. Before Kagura met Kensuke, there was always only Yomi. So in the beginning, Kensuke was kind of like a replacement for Yomi to Kagura. Obviously, that relationship turned into a romantic one as the story progressed. But Yomi was the one who was there for Kagura before Kensuke appeared. I'm not a yuri fan at all but that's mostly because I have only encountered pointless yuri plots before. (Ahem, Yuru Yuri.) This is a genuine yet close relationship Yomi and Kagura shares and I'm all for it. One thing I'm curious about though is Shizuru's left hand. She started wearing a black glove yet it looks like all of her fingers are "solid" as in they are still there. Perhaps, she has prosthetic fingers? Anyway, for now, Ga-Rei is still better than Tokyo ESP (chapter 66). Also, at the time of writing this, the author's new work "Yuureisen Chronicle" will start next week. Does this mean Tokyo ESP will fall behind? Please don't torture that series more than you have already... |
