Well, I was looking everywhere for stuff to add to my fairy interest stack, and this popped up for some reason, so...
I have no idea what the hell I just read lol. The art is okay, though that may be because I usually love shoujo art, but there's nothing particularly noteworthy or anything. It's the only part where I might see some appeal of though, I dunno if the translations make it worse or not but I just didn't see any semblance of... well, really anything. Seems to be implied that this kid just had a fantasy "spirited away" therapy session, since he expresses feelings from situations that kinda come out of nowhere, but they also don't feel quite resolved other than maybe acknowledgement by the embrace of the "fairies" (that's what he calls the grown men characters that say nothing but "tea"). Is this probably supposed to have light BL or subtext? I dunno, I haven't really read any BL, but I'm sure the interactions look really creepy to everyone else too. I think the kid's name is supposed to be Yashiro Shinoda, because the canister he seemed to be holding says "Shinoda" and the only other name we see other than what he came up with at the end is "Yashiro", but... it just feels too much like I'm grasping at nothing for information. Subtlety is nice and it's fun to piece things together, but I think this is just way too vague. This whole one-shot is just too vague, hardly even a story.
Probably more of a 2/10 just for that last part, but I don't really hate it or anything. Just felt nothing and got nothing. Eh, 3/10 ig |
