Well! what do u guys think is the meaning of D.
Many had discussions over this same topic but finally I came to this conclusion!

D. might just mean "DEATH". Every character with D in their names! Die with a smile or with no regrets.
Ace died with a smile.
Roger died with a smile, Luffy smiled when he was about to be executed by Buggy!
Events like this occurs often in one piece! IF we see more deep into it, these D. are always strong and die in a grand manner! It might also mean that D. are those who either surpass death and laughs off or die with a smile, signifying no regrets in their life!
In recent chapter, it has been revealed that Law is also a D. and since he keeps on talking about the D. very highly! he might know what it means! I have come to this conclusion based on what we see written in Law's fingers the word "DEATH".
So that's how my analysis go! D. probably means "DEATH".

Well! here's a question for those who don't think my theory is correct. What do you think the meaning of D. could be?

It's quite obvious to me that the carriers of the Will of D are descendants of the kingdom that was destroyed by those that went on to become the founders of the World Government. So basically the D carriers are the natural enemies of the Tenryubito. That's why Corazon said it was dangerous for Law to be around Doflamingo.

This totally makes sense to me, I really don't know why I'm only just associating these after you said it.
Damn, that's so cool. And that's why everyone who's a D is a total badass... They are inherently against the disgusting Tenryuubito.
Ooooooo but Garp is a D!!! And that's why he has a sense of justice that differs from his superiors.
I wonder if Coby is a D...

I don't see that boding well at all. People die. Death is too obvious and would never actually add to the badassness of those with D, which is what Oda wants.

I'm sure if Garp actually knew the meaning behind the D and the truth about the world government he would probably defect to the Revolutionaries.

Well, The similarities of people who had D it in is not death imo.
It's Freedom I think, look at all those D who always free and do what they think was right.
Garp, refuse his promotion to Admiral just because Vice-Admiral had more freedom.
Saul, Betraying the Navy because his think the Navy way of justice is wrong.
and a lot more.

and about the D is the descendant of the Royal Bloodline of the destroyed kingdom is pretty obvious to me, what intrigued me is who the hell is those people from ancient kingdom.

Yes, the recent chapter just confirmed that there was a D clan that the Tenryubito fear returning. Unfortunately the surviving D carriers are all separated and have no knowledge of what their D means. So it may be a while before they think to band together to oppose the Tenryubito. But according to Whitebeard's last speech, One Piece will be found by a D carrier and when that happens, the new Pirate King and all his allies will fight a war against the World Government.

I bet the one who know about the 'Void Century' and 'Will of D' except Roger Pirate Crew is those '5 Elder' in MaryJoa, I read some theory about them being Immortal (They can't die of old age) because Bonney is keeping them alive with her power. this is some plausible theory since when Akainu captured Bonney he said that 'all the '5 Elder' in MaryJoa is panic hearing that you escaped'.

Im not sure myself but I think that it will mean something completely different from what we all think it means.

I heard that theory so long ago I actually forgot it was just a theory and it wasnt actually a part of the story. :P Well assuming it is true and that they adopted the D. after theyre defeat Im going to guess it stands for what the current world is a dystopia. It makes sense if youve heard about the redline/all blue theory. Or maybe Oda's just going to troll us and tell us it stands for descendents.

This is false. Shanks le Roux is just the French translation of his nickname Akagami no Shanks or Red Haired Shanks.

We still don't know the true origins of shanks! Well the least I know that Roger gave shanks the mission to entrust his hat to someone who is willing to carry on his will! That would be luffy, but as a matter of fact we don't know if he himself is a D. or not.

I think you're right.

I think you're right.

But i found another interesting fact D can be related whit Devil fruit
God natural enemy is whatt? ..Devil so why not? almost all People have'd devil fruite (Ace,Dragon,Luffy,Rogue (Ace mother maybe) why i think so here 2 fact
1: Whitebeard on of last words: Aslongs that Bloodline survives they flames never die..
2.in Dressrosa: when an ability user dies that devil fruit reborn somewhere on earth
Sounds like D people :)

D for Devil
The greatest enemies of the gods... the demons (or devils)

I think that they are connected to the devil fruits...
Their ancestors planted the trees that give the devil fruits...

It's anybody's guess...
IT'S ONE PIECE AFTER ALL!!!!!!!

That does make a lot of sense.

The D carriers were probably people trying to bring down the Tenryubito, so the Tenryubito destroyed most of their clan. That could be why so many people fear them, because they can cause an uproar.

I think D stands for Dionysus the God of wine and madness. He symbolized freedom because during his festivals and rituals people let loose. His roman counterpart Liber Pater meant the Free Father.
