The world would be the same as it is now but with a twist, april 17 2015 everyone suddenly gains special new abilities(pyrokinesis, telekenesis, super strength) etc.

That world would be very interesting

The Race Island. 1 large island where all races of humankind are divided into teams of six peope (3 male, 3 female). Scattered throughout the island are weapons, food, and other survival supplies. There are also buildings for temporary shelter. Each team must attempt to exterminate each other. Teams who attempt to form alliances are immediately killed by being struck down with lightning. The time limit is one month. If no race wins after the time period, the volcano in the middle of the island explodes, killing all. If a team wins, the location of speedboats to leave the island will be revealed to them. However they have 1 minute to reach the speedboats before the hellhounds are released. The speedboats will take them to Heaven, where they, the most superior race will reside.

This was an idea one of my fucked up friends thought of in Freshman year.

There would also be a different type of Air to breathe increasing life spans to 200 years or so.
