| As long as everyone involved is aware of it and consents to it and no one is being misled, I see no problem with polygamy. In fact, I find it odd that it's illegal in most countries, it seems like a violation of individual liberties to me. The only issue with polygamy is that it makes a mess of marriage laws. I live in a country where polygamy (or at least a form of it - polygyny) is allowed within the conditions I stated above, yet I can think of so many court cases involving polygamy that drag on forever and children almost always end up being the victims, all because of a bad legal framework and corruption. So if polygamy is to be allowed, it should be within a strict, well structured and unambiguous legal framework. Of course, I'm speaking of allowing both forms of polygamy, not just polygyny. I personally would never agree to it. Not into sharing lol. |

| I personally would never want to be in such a relationship. I don't even want to marry one person; being in a relationship with more than one sounds thoroughly miserable. However, if other people want to do this, I have no moral problem with it, as long as they are all adults and they all consent to the relationship. I grew up in a neighborhood near a polygamist compound. The people there mostly kept to themselves, but when they were outside of their compound, they were quite pleasant. They were good neighbors. As far as I know, they weren't the type to coerce 14-year-old girls into plural marriage. Polygamists who force underage girls into relationships should be prosecuted and thrown in prison, as should anybody who sexually abuses children. |

| Polyamory - definitely for. If it involves consenting adults, no one should be able to interlope into their personal relationships. As a personal opinion I believe it's possible to love more than one person, it's natural and there's nothing wrong with it. If sex happens to be involved I believe that's up to the persons involved to decide what to do. Why favor repression? |
