Saizen started translating Ashita no Joe in December 2007 and still continue to this day (in joint with HnG now). So I wonder what fansubs are out there that took even longer to be released by a single group, i.e. almost 7 years? Must be some shounens probably
It's fine if translation was dropped in the end. What matters are the dates the first and the last fansubbed episodes were released.
I am not interested in re-releases of already done fansubs (e.g. different video quality or just small adjustments to the translation etc.). Split works are fine. It doesn't matter if the show was/is still ongoing, but I am only interested in single seasons of the show (but specials included!)

Yeah, you are right - from June 2003 to January 2013, which makes it 9 and a half years

It's separate seasons so it's not what I'm interested in.
I've made and adjustment to the first post

Do fansubs who are really behind but are still subbing count? Because K-F for One Piece is like that. They have been doing it since around 06-07 and are YEARS behind.

HorribleSubs (not an actual fansubber, but just a ripper from CrunchyRoll) has a lot of shows released continuously - http://horriblesubs.info/

UTW has a LOT of anime's they sub continuously - http://utw.me/

Hatsuyuki is also a very good source of high quality anime - http://hatsuyuki-fansubs.com/

Kaizoku did a lot of One Piece - http://www.kaizoku-fansubs.com/

Dattebayo & Taka did a lot of Naruto/Shippuuden - both dead (RIP)

They started in September, 2002, if not earlier, and released last episode on March, 2014, which makes 11 years and 6 months (if not more)!

It was one I knew off the top of my head. I also didn't read the post correctly.
Didn't realize Dattebayo stopped so early either.

If you say split works are okay, Daa! Daa! Daa! / UFO Baby (78 eps) was started sometime in 2001-2002 by AnimeOne and only finished in 2013 or 2014.

Everything that connects to MAL

Contains Ecchi, but not Tagged Ecchi: Part 1 || Part 2 || Part 3

It started in January 2002 and still ongoing in fact, at least the last episode was released last month, so 11 years and 6 months... One of the longest!

I gave you their website to check out which anime series they sub.
Also, about Dattebayo and Taka, 6 years and 4-5 months is pretty damn long, tbh. What a coincidence too, they almost have the same life-span.

The longest HorribleSubs worked on anything is 5 years and 6 months with Naruto Shippuuden, obviously (January 2009 - still ongoing)

The longest it took UTW to work on anything is 1 year and 5 months with Carnival Phantasm (August 2011 - January 2013), but that's only because I decided to include specials (as I said, re-releases of previously done episodes are not counted, but even if they were it would be only 4 years and 4 months with Summer Wars)

Hatsuyuki Fansub worked the longest on KissXSis for 4 years and 8 months (June 2009 - January 2014), but it's still ongoing

Also I should mention that Saizen Fansubs finally finished their translation of Ashita no Joe, which means it took them 6 years and 7 months

P.S. Also I realized I made a mistake in how I counted the number of months, so I corrected it

I don't know why you mention HorribleSubs. They aren't fansubbers since they just take Crunchyroll subs.
