Well, my parents just say "It's a hobby of yours. Others have nothing to do with what you like or not."
Heck, they even watch anime with me from time to time (meaning, if I happen to be watching anime on the living room, they might just sit there as well and often take some interest in the storyline).

Neither one of my parents care much about it, except that my Mom has grown some kind of dislike for japanese people. Something about their strange technology... Hm, anways, My sister used to make fun of me. Every time she walked into the room and I was watching anime she would imitate them by saying "Ching Chang Chong". After a few years of explaining she doesn't care about it much either anymore.

I love my Mom's reaction when I watch anime. Since my brother notoriously gets caught with his hentai games. Every time my mom sees me watching K-on she's like " Are you watching that HenTAY stuff again?" XD
..... SNake are you there?!! ..... snake...... SSSSSSSSSSSSNNNNNNNNNNNNNNAAAAAAAAAKKKKKKKKKKKKEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!11!!!!

Nah my parents don't really make fun of my anime/ask about it. They are ok with me watching it. I usually listen to Anime intro/ending songs, Hatsune Miku, and K-On! while I drive, and they never say anything. Not to mention two of their favorite shows since childhood are anime. So I guess you could say I'm lucky. They think its better that i spend my money on anime than buy games. Although i wish my parents were as into it as I am, oh well.

my mom always gets this look on her face like she's thinking, "My son has no life." My dad, however straight up ball busts me
The many things me and my friend say when watching animes:
1. "WHY IS THAT PENGUIN JUST STANDING THERE?!" Me and my friend watching Gintama
2. "This anime is just one nipple away from being softcore porn..." My friend watching High School of the Dead
3. "God this Endless Eight arc is like Vietnamese torture!" Me watching Haruhi Suzimiya

they never actully said anything about it to me.

Ive watched anime for years but i don't think my mum and step father actully noticed it.

they know i think (I THINK) that i went to japanese evening classes while at college so i think they know i watch japanese cartoons, i think i mentioned it before, like just watching my japanese cartoons but they never say anything.

to be honest, my dad died like 2 years ago but he was like me but ii never lived with him and we did not start hanging out till i was 15. but he had similar intreasts like games and stuff and we were more like freinds instead of father and son, cause he would go on about making love to women and how to do it etc and also we played xbox 360 all the time when i did go see him and not to mention he lived with a uncle and a freind so like being 45 and living with your pals is kinda fucked up.

but when i was with him, it was like speaking in the mirror so i think if he knew about anime he would have watched it with me or at least show an intreast in it.
i created a club that is building up a emotional "feels" anime collections
so if anyone wants to join it and get emotional together please come and join us <3

My dad knows about it, but he's never made fun of me for watching it. He's indifferent about it most of the time, though he occasionally enjoys hearing about whatever I'm watching.

My parents don't know about it, and I'd like to keep it that way.
Whenever they ask me what I'm watching I just say cartoons and then they leave me alone. 0_o

My mother said to me that she was considering a marriage proposal for me.
She explained that if i get married then i will stop watching this childish stuff apparently my elder sister agrees with her view.

My Mom "Makes fun" of anything Japanese that I watch/listen to. Doesn't even pertain to Anime. Something about "How can you understand it"? Even though I told her there are English Subs. Ugh. O_<

As for Dad, he doesn't really care. :P Once he saw Dragon Ball Z on the TV, asked "What's that"? and walked out.
Fan of Dragonball Z and various other Anime since '98! ^^

My mum's indifferent towards anime. As long as I don't foster an obsession over them, she's fine with it.
My dad, on the other hand, actually enjoyed everything animated almost as much as I do...

they both think it's weird, since my dad saw some of Fullmetal Alchemist, which he thought was weird because it was too bloody for a cartoon, and my mom doesn't really like how some anime movies break away from the "disneyland/hollywood" endings where no matter what happens, everything will turn out all right

My parents didn't make fun of it, but there is sometimes where there is a scene where they show those semi-nude part, and I always explain to them about the anime. Somehow they understand it.

Whereas my friend, always make fun of me and say I am a hentai because they love to disturb me. :(
I don't watch hentai! :(

The only time really is when I was on a GINORMOUS evangelion high. We had just gotten back from best buy and I had my brand new copy of End of Evangelion in hand. My mom was exhausted and layed on the couch while I eagerly started up the movie. Man that opening scene was one of the most awkward moments that literally gets worse and worse to "those not in the know".

From that point forward, she always popped in now and again to make sure I wasn't watching "cartoon porn"...

well, seeing as I am a teenager still living in my parents house, playing video games etc (I work on the family farm) I don't want to seem like anymore of a complete nerd.

I normally watch anime on my 360 and if someone comes in I pause and bring up the blade menu to bloack the screen.

My dad wouldn't care, but my mum is a little less....tolerant.

Luckily I am training my little brother to like anime/manga and he gets whatever the hell he wants and my mum dosen't question it so longa as he shuts the hell up.

Also I prefer to watch in dub, not only due to personal preference but because it would seem quite 'geekish' in my household to have japanese voices coming from my room, wheres as eng dub I can blame on my brothers cartoons on sky.

Yeah, I'm so insecure and my mum scares me:)

Well, since I watch anime on my T.V., I get questioned a lot.
My mom said one time "How do you understand what they're saying?"
Me: *Points to subs*
*facepalm*
And when relatives come over when I'm watching anime, they assume I'm watching kiddy cartoons.

when i lived w/ them i'd watch it in the living room, and when i got older and i started watching more 'quality' stuff. (and i would explain in a LOT of detail why it's good, like the animation quality, the osts, voicing, production studios, directing, story etc ) and i guess my enthusiasm got to them and soon enough they would watch some of the shows i suggest to them. (force onto them)

and well.. they could always tell western cartoons were lower quality (no offence) they would never understand how i could watch simpsons.

For some reason, both of my parents always call anime "manga". It's quite strange, because people are normally more familiar with the former. They don't really mind, they just think I watch it too much.

And my brother watches a little bit, mainly Ghibli.

Eh, they know I watch it but don't say much about it.
I don't usually say much about it myself.
Sometimes I'll say "Oh there was this this and that in this anime I watched."
I'm not really good at explaining any plot lines too so I don't even bother.

Although they still call it cartoons, my parents never made fun of me watching anime. In fact, my mom was really supportive on my addiction XD back in 2002 when I graduated from elementary she gave me a set of Hunter X Hunter vcds as a present :D And we watched DBZ and Shin Chan together (when it was aired here in my country).

My Dad actually introduced me to DBZ, which I didn't pick up because it was so inconsistent in its episodes airing on tv that I got irritated. There weren't online streaming at that time yet. It was all dialed-up internet connection, which sucks. Anyway, he watches some episodes with me sometimes. He's totally fine with it, and my Mom don't bother as long as I do what I'm supposed to, which is school and work.
