A Certain Magical Index (light novel)
| From someone who has read the Light Novel I do think there is a high chance there will be a 3rd season and possible 4th season (It being quite short though if ever). Those saying creating more will run it to the ground in my opinion just hating ya. The 2nd season of Index did leave a lot undone not to mention the 3rd War is just about to happen and the ending of Season 2 basically sets up for the events of that. The continuing story after what we saw in Season 2 get's more and more intense just like how the transition from previous season, I don't think J.C. creating more content for the Index series would run it in the ground. If anything it would boost it's popularity even more. |

| well i think if they are going to go for season 3 it'll be after they finish Railgun S. maybe they'll announce something while Railgun S is running or after the last episode aired |

| I'm pretty sure if they aired a movie and are still finishing Railgun S that there will be a Season 3. I heard some rumors from people that it will come Oct 2013. Still unknown. |

They werent THAT faithful.The characters didnt have proper development(although the decay wasnt on a FSN anime level)among other things and sometimes the animation was ridiculous too(the building that Accelerator throw). |
| I miss too =( Maybe season III go to WWIII arc? (Final arc before New Testament) would be necessary adapting vol 14-22 (6 arc) Season 1 = 6 arcs Season 2 = 6 arcs Season 3 = 6 arcs too probably will be announced in 2014 |

| There'll be a big "To Aru" series announcement in the next Dengeki Daioh. That'll probably be our third season or perhaps a movie/animated version of one of the side stories (my bet's still on a third season though). Hopefully JC Staff puts as much effort into adapting such glorious material as they've done with the Sisters arc in Railgun S. Just the thought of them adapting Battle Royale and Double Jesus with the same animation quality, pacing and detail as they've put into the Sisters arc is really exciting me. I hope they can pull it off. |

| Considering that Railgun and Index are JC Staff's best selling series ever (except for Azumanga Daioh, I believe)... I see NO REASON for them to jump off this cash cow bandwagon any time soon. There is enough source material for at least 2 more seasons of Index at this point. By the time they are animated and out, there will probably be enough for at least another season of Railgun, probably another of Index, and whatever other side stories they can come up with during that time, and undoubtedly more theatrical releases (especially if the sales for Endymion are anything like those of the Railgun/Index series) lol. I don't think we will be seeing the end of Index and Railgun anytime soon. |

But I think they might make a season since the series is one of the most popular light novels in Japan. I think that the anime ended quite open.. I wanna know what Touma said that made Misaka Mikoto to like him No shit Captain. Mikoto started to like him way before that.And it was probably something along the lines of "I want to protect her too". |

For now you dont need to watch the Index anime in order to understand the Railgun anime. Chances are, if you watch both seasons of Index first, to find plotholes and inconsistencies in the anime original arcs of Railgun. Because the Index is an adaptation of a light novels series, they have enough content o make another 3-4 seasons without any filler.Railgun is a manga and during both seasons there wasnt enough content to make a 2 cour series so they made up -very-disappointing original arcs(aka not by the author of the manga and novel). Now which one to watch?Thats subjective.Looking at your list I would say watch both. The only thing I can actually recommend is watching Railgun S(first 16 eps) AFTER the first season of Index since those eps are a retelling of one of Index's arcs, from another point of view and it is more faithful(better animation,script and voice acting too) to the Index novel than the Index anime is.It would be a shame to watch "the same arc" twice and go from perfection to mediocrity. Chronologically it is like this. Railgun starts-Index starts-Railgun ends-Railgun S starts-Railgun S ends-Index ends. Yes it is a mess. |

You probably can (kinda hard to miss it *cough*). Just Reach your arm on up back there. I, myself, have no plausible idea on how it got all the way in there. >:3 |
| There is some good news. I heard A Certain Magical Index 2 will start getting an English dub starting on January 31, 2013. So I'm super glad that's gonna happen soon. As for A Certain Scientific Railgun S getting English dubbed, it seems unlikely. I heard Railgun S was aired online and West might not translate it because it won't make them money if they can't sell it on DVD. That's what I'm hearing. |
