| This anime approach to worldbuilding is, questionable to say the least? The issue isn't "why are they gay" but more like "why are they ALL suddenly gay" this doesn't make any sort of sense both from a narrative and real life perspective. Satoru was shown having sexual attraction to Saki 2 eps prior, even if it was 2 years before in actual time, you don't "turn" gay, your sexual attraction just doesn't change like that because of puberty it's just not the case. If then the reason they turn gay was because of some kind of element of worldbuilding we still don't know about, maybe something which occured within that 2 year timeframe, it becomes more justifiable for them to be gay however my problem is, i just really don't care? Like what is interesting about finding the reason why those characters turned gay, their romance wasn't even a central them up until now, this is the lames mystery you could make. This is just confusing, the first scene in particular has every student enlacing each other in group of two of the same sex, this clearly implies EVERYONE is gay (but the cuck apparently) but how does this society even functions and SURVIVE if every children becomes gay when they reach puberty apart from few individuals? Is it just a phase? Do they turn gay then turn back straight? Because nothing was clearly stated for a false aura of mystery then the entire plot becomes as messy as the visuals with what the fuck is even happening in the first place for us to find a meaning in all of this. |
