| This was a somewhat disappointing finale. The final fight between Spike and Vicious had potential, but the battle was way too short and felt rushed through. Finding out Spike hates cats isn't too surprising, but it does make me like him even less. It was quite predictable that both Spike and Julia were going to die. However, the raid on the syndicate building was entertaining, even if it was short, and the few visuals in the Spike vs Vicious fight were good too. |
| A masterpiece no matter how you look at it. I've never cried at any movies or tv in the past because of lots of past things, expectations cause im male, etc. but this made me cry. The episode before this also made me just so sad, I didn't want any of them to leave and I didn't want this anime to end. One of if not the best ending I've seen in any anime. (it was so good i made half my mal signature a quote from it) |

| Oh, well, i'll still type a full wall of text, but anticipating understandable TLDR silent reactions i can just sum up everything, after every single watch and rewatch from 2006 (yeah, if i remember correctly, i wanted to scream at the television even if there was no debate already about my total enjoyment of the series) to 2024, simply with the following picture. come on, Nabeshin himself has told "it's up to the audience to decide if he passed away or survived". What? The absolutely wonderful Blue end credits song exists to confirm that Spike is dead? The final freeze frame? He's just faking it waiting for Faye or Jet to rescue him, right? The fading star? It can be Julia's or even Vicious', why not? ... Even leaving this debate on a side, Anastasia's return, Julia having so little screentime before being fatally shot, Faye's return all for nothing, the final dinner between Spike and Jet between bitter laughing moments, including the dish Spike wanted to eat during episode 1, "yeah, it's a good story" "i hate that story", and final confrontation with Faye. Damn. 10/10, and this is coming from someone that has always preferred high school comedies / romances and cute girls doing cute things. This is considered a masterpiece for extremely deserved reasons, characters, music, everything is in its right place. "Everything is clear now... life is just a dream, you know, that's neverending... i'm ascending..." |

| I think Spike found out that he wasn't alive anymore. Faye and Jet were left behind :( So the show suddenly got it's Gintama moment were the story turned epic and serious for a short time. I don’t know, space anime probably needs to have a final climax, it would have made no difference if it hadn’t happened in this episode, you can end an anime like that, but you don’t have to. Overall a good show, that does a lot right, but also isn’t as epic or intellectual like some folks believe. The atmosphere was top, the visuals were great, the stranded characters who failed in their previous lifes were quite interesting, but also difficult to understand since their past is kind of broken. Edward was completely beyond me hahaha, he completely made no sense. The episodic format was unnecessary giving the setting and general good direction and storytelling. While I appreciate the funny and crazy episodes, it was sad that they had no connection to each other to the point where it doesn't even matter in what order you would watch them. The 90% of being episodic either was fully intentionally or the staff had no ambition for writing a complete script. I think on one side Cowboy Bebop wanted to be an entertaining space anime, but on the same side an elaborate character drama. I think it was very entertaining for an episodic format, but the character drama could have been a little more in depth. |

| Amazing soundtracks and style. Good ending too but I really couldn't care less about Vicious. He has a cool presence but I feel I don't know enough about the relationship between him and Spike. I know Spike went coz it's not good to leave things in the fridge but still. Maybe I am missing a couple of side stories. Also has so many memorable villains like Mad Perroit(my fav, and also the fact that he and his playground are so reminiscent of Nier:Automata), that random-ass blob, the immortal child Wen, to name a few. |

| Another class catch up....I think it's a great anime but at the same time not as good as people say, maybe if I watched it at the beginning of my adventure with anime and didn't hear a million praises for this title, I would have liked it more but imo still, solid 8/10. The pillar of this anime are definitely the characters, that's why the episodes that focused on their past were the most interesting and engaging, unlike many episodes in which we simply had a bad guy of the week that our heroes hunted, these episodes were most often filled with a bit of stupid action where Spike without preparation got into hopeless situations but thanks to the plot armor, he managed to survive, and a lot of annoying coincidences that pushed the plot forward. But overall most of the episodes were really good and had an interesting idea for themselves, especially those that weren't filled with action, apart from that when I spent some time with the characters and got to know them better, even the weaker episodes were enjoyable thanks to their interactions. What I missed the most in this anime was more long arcs, like 3-4 episodes, so that there would be time to better develop the plot of a given thread and better get to know the secondary characters who take part in it, for example it would be useful in this episode of Jet, where there was this friend who betrayed him, as if the character we see for a few minutes gets some big plot twist and some big redemption scene at the end and it doesn't work at all because it's poorly built imo. Besides, it's a shame that these episodes are so separate and what happened in one episode has no impact on the next, for example in the episode where Faye gets a recording from her past, the anime forgets about it until the episode where it is continued and Faye doesn't think about it at all during that time, it's not visible that something so big has affected her, we suddenly get a new crazy adventure, instead of maybe looking for the person who sent the recording or showing why Faye doesn't want to do it. But back to the positives, the characters, dialogues, setting (that retrofuturism was cool), atmosphere, soundtrack and animation, it's just great. Favorite characters: 1-Spike 2-Jet 3-Faye 4-Ed |
