| Hahaha. As is usual for long-running manga, a bunch of early commenters who read this when it came out are just complaining about pace and lack of dialogue. It seem some readers forget context with long breaks between chapters. They just want progress, progress, progress! Story, story, story! Now, now, now! Admittedly it reads a lot better without pauses. This chapter feels very special. The page spreads for all of the God Hand are incredible. I love that for Void the pages are just a huge brain. I assume now they can all manifest into the world without an eclipse. I think there are actually more spreads than single pages this chapter. The level of detail is incredible. I can't believe people want to ruin it with unnecessary dialogue. |

I think it's easy to lose perspective when there's a new chapter only every few months. It's easy for me to point out now how well this chapter flows with the others, and how brilliant a climax it is, with a lot of stunning art, but at the time I guess it seemed like a trickle with nothing going on. I just found it amusing because it's often how these sort of threads go. The early commenters are so often frustrated, while the latter ones are more invested. That's why I so rarely follow publishing manga! I actually finished Berserk a long while ago, but hearing the news that it's returning, I thought back to this chapter for some reason. I really love the depictions of the God Hand. |
