And why does it feels like she's more confident in that look, she looks so bright and really carried herself well in the introduction. Sasuga Lana. Like the idea that Felix's chess "music" is similar to Monica, he is a cunning guy after all. Finally Monica's "friend" Bernie is here, I did not expect to have the last part of the season to have him in the mix, we saw him in the flashbacks some episodes before and it did looked like he felt inferior to Monica, gotta say I don't like this guy, but might be too early to judge him. Still, making Monica go through that, he deserves death to be humiliated in this chess tournament. Monica has been through a lot, what happened to his father, his relationship with Bernie and then Casey, just give this girl genuine happiness /cries |
| Who gives a fuck about Monica playing chess? Also, Monica being that talkative with someone in the past directly contradicts everything the series has told us about Monica's past and how she basically couldn't talk at all. |
| Don't forget those 3 assholes at the very start, this type of terrorizing is probably been happening for months, and its like she is used to it. It is good that Monica has very strong self control when it comes to magic, if someone like her would snap the entire entire area could get leveled in seconds, well minutes to find the protection spells and then seconds to go ballistic. |

Hoping Bernie has actually been bothered by it since and the show simply portrayed it this way because of Monica's perspective. Praying he isn't that one dimensional.
But on the other hand. Megane Monica. She doesn't even wear glasses and she's already an expert.

| I really hope that Monica can reconcile with Bernie, at least a little. He seems pretty insecure and when Monica shot out ahead of him in terms of magical skill he immediately started jumping to worst case conclusions. Monica couldn't explain what really happened because of her anxiety and fear, and Bernie couldn't ask because of his own hurt pride and fear that Monica had been lying to and tricking him the entire time. These are two people that clearly struggle to communicate, but I hope they can at least enough to establish that they had failed to communicate with each other properly and apologise for the way things ended before. |
| What a sore loser. For someone who acted being all righteous and high and mighty he sure acted like an asshole just cause the girl he was teaching turned out to be better than him. Hurting his pride I get but the difference between a good guy and a pretend wannabe is how they take it. Anyway Monica looks quite different with makeup. Also man I love the maid. |

| UGH...So Bernie affected Monica so much that the whole reason she was living in a cabin away from public at the start of the series was totally HIS fault... I do hope Monica can get over this trauma in some form so-to-speak....or y'know...at least not cower in fear around him. I'm also highly curious if Bernie will have a role after the chess tournament is done with...cuz he obviously knows Monica is a sage so if he realizes it's really her (and doesn't keep it a secret cuz that's the sort of jerk he's turning out to be) wouldn't her cover be blown (in terms of the mission)? Hmmmmm.... |
