I don't like the fact that Hina is really persistent in her feelings for Taiki, knowing that Taiki has feelings for Chinatsu, seriously she should just stop and find someone else to fall in love with, there are a lot of Taiki's out there.

Well when you have feelings for someone, and they haven't been taken yet, it's extremely hard to just set them aside simply because they may have eyes for someone else. It hurts and part of you wants to think that there's still a chance they might look your way if things don't work out with that person they're in love with. It's part of why she told Chinatsu about her confession to try and gauge her reaction, hopeful that she wouldn't care.

Hina's clinging on, trying to make Taiki see her after realizing her own feelings when it's already far too late. Don't forget they're close friends, too. Taiki has a level of affection for Hina (and probably some minor physical attraction), but what he feels for her is definitely platonic. Her confession left him completely shocked and now he's conflicted on how he should deal with it as he doesn't want to lose her as a friend.

This is part of why the unrequited love/hopeless suitor trope stands as one of my favorites in all media. There's something oddly beautiful about it. And being on that end a number of times myself in the past, I can definitely sympathize with Hina and the pain that comes with rejection.

If hina actually love taiki, I thought she would rather support taiki in his love for Chinatsu. Rather than going behind taiki back and tell Chinatsu about the reveal.

Damn, Hina is relentless and told Chinatsu about her confession to Taiki and also invited him to kiss her, and I think she was being serious too. Speaking of the kissing scene, I thought Chinatsu was going to walk by and see them both but that didn't happen. Anyway, I'm curious to see how the practice match goes and if Chinatsu and Hina will cheer him on together.

Damn the Hina bits in this one were so good, if Taiki wasn’t already set on Chinatsu he would be in the palm of Hina’s hands rn lol, but boy did it hurt to see Taiki shut down that kiss, Hina is really trying but it’s just not breaking the Chinatsu-shaped barrier around Taiki, and not only that, there’s also the situation with Taiki becoming too fixated on getting better at badminton to see his own progression, so really Hina has chosen the roughest of times to attempt romance with Taiki, the only thing that’s a plus for her is that Chinatsu is currently not living with Taiki, but so far it’s not really getting her anywhere.

There were also some nice Chinatsu bits in this one, the moment where she told Taiki she’d be watching his match was especially sweet, Taiki may not have wanted it in the moment but you know he’s gonna get some kind of energy boost from his crush telling him to kick ass lol. I also liked Chinatsu’s moment with Haryu, the comparison of Taiki’s situation to traveling through the desert with no water is looking very true, but thankfully Taiki has folks there to help him out, it’s just unfortunate for Haryu that Taiki was already helped by the captain with that curry lol.

Feels bad for Hina... but sure he doesn't have to force himself and fake his feelings to kiss her :(

Yeah I definitely think that Taiki is going with Chinatsu because as much as he gets on with Hina, he gets nervous around Chi and has had a crush on her since he first saw her lol

Again. Hina is clinging on, hopelessly in love despite knowing she has no chance. She did that to gauge Chinatsu's reaction, secretly hoping that Taiki's feelings for her are one-sided. (Of course we know they aren't).

That's how the hopeless suitor trope works. A character in love who realizes their feelings too little too late often goes through these phases before actually accepting defeat.

She has to get her heartbroken properly in order to move on. Taiki knows what he has to do, but they're friends, so that's why he's hesitant to turn her down.

Both girls were really cute.

A lot of moments with Hina honestly. Her running behind Taiki and casually saying she wants to see him work hard. Hina acting. Really cute reactions there.

Chinatsu not sure what the difference between stoic and serious was also cute.

Taiki has a lot to figure out in this. I can feel him feeling the way he's feeling. Poor Hina's kiss demand was rejected. My girl, you're so adorable and deserve the entire world. I know it's hard for someone like her but that's how love stories go.

For Hina to be confessing to Chinatsu this early whilst she's away from Taiki's home, it was quite the moment of fluster.

Taiki getting better at his badminton skills, but yet feels anxiety, even more with the practice game on Saturday against their former competitors of Sajikawa High, which Taiki lost to Yusa once, it defintely is made more embarrassing given his and Hina's close proximity on their own training. Despite that, both girls wanting to cheer Taiki on, Chinatsu's smile makes it clear that he will work hard for it.

As much as the culture festival is underway, Hina practicing her scenes for the delicate kissing final scene, it just proves too much to even act this out with Taiki. Even then, Taiki tries to play it as neutral as possible, but it's clear that she can only visualize her being with him, as much as she tries to play it off like their usual banter. This, adding to the disruptive play against Haryu letting him win easily, Taiki feels like he's one step forward and many steps back, and Haryu notices it to have a small pep talk between him and Chinatsu.

At long last, the day of the fated practice match, will Taiki be able to progress past his cowardly phase?

Honestly Hina is very strong for brushing off the kiss rejection just like that, but faces can be deceiving

Taiki worries about facing Yusa again when he learns of the upcoming practice with Sajikawa High.

Chinatsu and Hina promise their support for Taiki. Meanwhile Hina told Chinatsu that she likes Taiki.

This episode was super chill, maybe because fewer people are watching, I’m not sure.
But there were two frames of Chinatsu drinking water… Also, Hina seemed to realize how weak her connection is with Taiki, sadly. But is Taiki starting to get annoyed by Hina? I hope he doesn’t reject her without at least being kind. She’s truly a wonderful friend.

On to episode 18!

What I got out of this one is that Hina is being more forward about her feelings for Taiki. Chinatsu knows now, of course. Hina practiced being woken up by a kiss for Snow White, and asked Taiki if he wanted to do it with her. Wow. Of course, he said no, but after she left, he was feeling so conflicted. It seems that he realises that with everyone else working hard, he's a coward. He has a big practice match with Yusa coming up, and he can't seem to improve against Haryu. At the end, he's gone to get the coach, but runs into Yusa. Here we go.

I love how the emotions are so real in this series. Chinatsu is feeling down because Hina confessed her love to Taiki. Hina is hiding her feelings and being cheerful, when she's really hurting inside. She so very much wanted to kiss Taiki. And Taiki is a mess. He's being pulled so many ways, being in the middle of a love triangle, plus worrying about his match with Yusa. I love this show.

I really love Hina's bravery to go all in. Not many are actually capable of doing that. However, it does seem to be taking a toll on Taiki as he seems to be doing more self-reflections on himself and his shortcomings. But after all this, he'll develop into a better person, and athlete as well.

Hina should get most of your pity, but save a little for Taiki himself. Hina has put him in a hard position, as he must try to find a way to say no without breaking her heart too harshly, which there really isn't any way to do so.

Keep the Taiki pity very limited though, because AGAIN, how TF do you fall for someone like Chinatsu over Hina. It's comparing a robot to someone with absolutely lethal seduction techniques. I guess Haryu was right: Taiki is a masochist. Bro wants what he cannot get, and rejects what is being handed to him on a gleaming silver platter.

Hina made me laugh during that multitasking moment and later on... Still a better live action Snow White than the disney 2025 one. Not that it took too much effort. But Taiki as the queen in drag was amusing. Seriously though, i wouldn't have kissed her too.
