Removing the numbers I'm not answering. 1. Anime 2. Shounen, seinen 3. Tsundere 5. Staying old school. Having active forums. 6. Not really. 7. No, and not interested. 8. Somewhat. I ask for recommendations on occasion. 9. If it blends well with regular artwork, I don't have a problem with it. 10. Anilist wins for having a dark mode. |

4esthetics said: 1. Anime, donghua, hanguk aeni, manga, manhua, manhwa, light novels, or webtoons? 2. Shounen, seinen, shoujo, or josei? 3. Best dere? 4. Best decade of anime? 5. Your favorite thing about MAL? 6. Do you believe in objectivity when it comes to anime criticism? 7. Have you ever been to an anime convention before? If so, did you like it? If not, would you ever plan on going to one? 8. How much do you trust anime recommendations from MAL forum users in general? 9. Your thoughts on CGI becoming more frequently used in anime? Is it a good or bad thing? 10. MAL’s website design or Anilist’s website design? Which one is better in terms of looks, and which one is better in terms of features? 11. Best anime of the year? 12. Best OP and ED of 2021? 13. What’s the most anticipated anime for you in 2022? 14. Endings that are open to interpretation or endings with a clear conclusion? Just wanted to make a questionnaire since I’m curious to know what people think about these. Btw, feel free to skip some of these questions if you’d like :p Oh and I also added a couple more options for number 1: light novels and webtoons 1. VNs > Anime = Manga > Light novels > Everything else 2. Seinen = Josei > Shonen = Shoujo 3. Kudere 4. I'd argue the 2000s as a whole, but early 2010s (2010-2012) was truly impactful 5. The fact that I can discuss all my viewpoints on a show, find shows I haven't seen, etc. 6. Yeah, honestly. You can never be completely objective, but if you truly want to criticize something look from an objective lens. -How's the pacing? -Do the characters fit the theme of the show? -(If in a realistic setting) Are the characters true to life (Also do they act their age)? -Does it have an original or semi-original concept? -Does the plot make any sense? That's about the scope of my objectivity 7. No, I don't go out much in general. I hesitate to do anything, really. It's not a good thing. 8. I don't really buy into them that much. I'll only take recommendations from either comments on MAL, or because I heard it from a friend (Even then, I've seen the most Anime by a good margin in my friend group so I take recommendations with a grain of salt) 9. I don't like CGI in Anime, because I've never seen it done flawlessly. 10. Ehh, I don't really mind regardless. I guess I like MAL for the simplicity. 11. If it's this year you mean, I haven't seen anything new. 12. (See Previously) 13. To be completely honest: Nothing. I don't really watch anything when it's still airing or look forward to new releases, in general. 14. I like open-ended endings when they work, they don't work often. So I'd say, clear conclusion. |

Thanks for the answers everyone! I just read all of them. Also, here are my answers to these questions: 1. Manga first, then anime. They’re both very close though, and I like them both almost 50/50. 2. Shounen, then seinen (according to my MALGraph stats). Like with question 1, this one’s also almost a 50/50 for me, but I’ll give the slight edge to shounen. 3. I like tsundere the most. Sadodere is my second favorite 4. From the anime that I’ve seen, I’d say 2010’s is definitely the best decade for anime. 2000’s anime would be 2nd best. 5. My favorite thing about MAL would be the ability to rate anime and manga, as well as talk in the forums. 6. Yup, I do believe in objectivity in anime criticism. 7. I’ve been to AX in 2014 with a few friends, and it was quite an interesting experience! If I have the chance, I would love to go to another anime convention. 8. Generally, I take recommendations from MAL forum users with a grain of salt. I only trust recommendations from people who really understand what I personally like and dislike. I prefer looking at MAL rankings and stats more because I’m able to get a much larger sample size of opinions. 9. I often don’t like the look of CGI in anime, so I’d say the increase use of it is a bad thing. 10. Look-wise, I think I’ll go with AniList’s design. Looks more visually pleasing than MAL’s, but I do appreciate the simplicity of MAL’s design as well. Feature-wise, not quite sure, since I rarely ever go on AniList. 11. So far, I have no idea lol. I’ve only seen two episodes of takt op.Destiny. 12. OP: Yuru Camp Season 2 OP - Seize the Day ED: Vanitas no Carte ED - 0 (zero) 13. Hmm, probably Chainsaw Man and AOT final season part 2. I’m also looking forward to seeing Bleach be animated again. 14. If both were well-made endings, I’d prefer the one that’s open to interpretation, since those get people thinking, theorizing, and discussing after the anime is finished. |

1. Anime 2. Seinen 3. Not interested 4. 1980s easily 5. I like the forums honestly 6. No, my opinions are based solely on personal experience 7. I have been to one and I met Steve Blum there which was fantastic 8. It depends on the user, but I've found some new favorites through recommendations 9. I'm not against it if the creators use it in an effective and interesting manner 10. MAL is more welcoming 11. Not explored enough from 2021 to say 12. See 11 13. Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury 14. Open to interpretation because I want shows that make me think |

1. Anime, donghua, manga, manhua, manhwa and webtoons 2. Seinen 3. Yandere by far 4. 2000s 5. Anime Information all in a single place + active community 6. No 7. No 8. Low trust, I usually have a curated source of recs 9. Good, It's a change from the 2D style 10.Obviously MAL since you don't have to go through so many clicks to access information, although that just changed because the favorites on my profile will take 2 clicks to access now 11. Mushoku Tensei or Combatants will be dispatched or Moonlit Fantasy 12. no idea 13. CWM 14. Clear Conclusion, it's more suitable to the anime medium |

1. Anime. What is a hanguk aeni, is that what they call it in Korea? 2. Undecided. I liked more seinen in quantity but loved more the josei I really liked so between those two mature demographics regardless of the gender. 3. Tsundere 4. Pass, Idk 5.I like how it looks and how easy it is to use. The latest udpates (openings and endings previews, alternative languages in lists) have been very cool in my opinion, I even like the way the favourites look now, it makes you scroll less, although the previous layout was good too. 6. I don't believe in objectivity when it comes to anything, let alone anime. 7. No and don't plan to 8. I never paid much attention to them but the ones I've seen in the anime relations were kinda accurate and the ones from people in my comments were interesting at the very least. 9. Right now it is bad because they can't get it right, but I expect it to look good in the future. 10. I don't know much about Aniilist but it seems to be the best out of the two at least in features, since it lets you rate in a lots of different ways. I prefer MAL because I'm too old for that other one. 11. I still have to watch Ousama Ranking and The Deer King, but I'm still gonna vote for Odd Taxi. 12. Idk, there were a lot of good ones but none blew my mind like in previous years, pass 13. None :( 14. Prefarably clear conclusions, as long as they are good. If they turn to shit afterwards just let it incomplete, like the Usagi Drop adaptation. |

1. Anime but manga is great too. Surely will read LNs in the future, can't wait for Mushoku Tensei S2 so I'll end up reading the LN someday. 2. I like all of them but probably, Seinen>Shounen>Shoujo>Josei 3. Tsundere 4. 2010's, haven't seen much from the other decades and I'm not that interested on them, Aria and Clannad are both in my top 5 anime of all time tho. 5. Forums are way better than AniList ones, haven't been that active the last months as before tho. Also, each sites have their benefits when customizing your profile, but prefer the MAL ones. 6. Nah. 7. No, but I would like to go in a future. 8. Never, they're shit. 9. I don't like it at all. I've watched a few like Kumo desu ga and Shinigami Bocchan and enjoyed them but nah, prefer the normal animation. 10. Like MAL more but AniList is not that bad. 11. Fruits Basket S3 and Mushoku Tensei for new, shoutouts to Kageki Shoujo and Odd Taxi that were great too. 12. Horimiya OP and Fruits Basket S3 ED 13. My Dress-Up Darling, Shikimori-san and hopefully Fuufu Ijou gets scheduled for 2022 (already announced an anime adapt). Some great romance manga with amazing girls. 14. Clear conclussion. |

1. Anime 2. Tied shounen and seinen 3. Tsundere, can't go wrong with a classic 4. 2010-2020, anime came into the spotlight on a more international level during this time, and for a good reason, the amount of quality shows that came from these years is astounding 5. I love seeing other people's rating and compare all the scores they've given. I love talking about shows and movies, so seeing other ppl's opinions just gives me stuff to think about when I'm bored 6. No, there I don't think there is such a thing as objectivity when looking at any sort of movie or tv show, opinions exist 7. No, I don't think I will get much out of it. And as much as I love anime, the anime community, especially in the western hemisphere, I'm not a big fan of 8. I generally don't trust recommendations from someone I don't know. Any recommendation is biased based on personal preference, and I can't know someone's preferences if I don't know them 9. Despite the vast majority of CGI examples in anime being not great imo, I think we're beginning to head in the right direction. With series like fate, demon slayer, or chainsaw man (from what we saw in the pv) showing us that studios are getting closer and closer to mastering 3D and 2D integration. I'm genuinely excited to see the future of animation in general 10. I like the features of MAL more, but the design of anilist seems more organized (take this with a grain of salt, I don't have much of an opinion on web design in general) 11. Best on-going: Attack on Titan The Final Season (I'm the biggest AOT nerd), Best original: Horimiya (gave me good vibes during a stressful time of my life) 12. Best OP: Odd Taxi (Song was a bop, loved the art style) Best ED: Attack on Titan The Final Season (Beautiful song, stylish, loved the secret meaning hidden within) 13. As I said, big AOT nerd, so its Attack on Titan The Final Season Part 2, but for something original: either Chainsaw Man or the new Mari Okada movie 14. I love endings that are open to interpretation. The way they make you think, the conversations you could have with people about them is something that I live for. The issue is, I don't see very many examples of these endings done well. The thing is, I think these endings are done well when they are also satisfying, which i will say is extremely hard to do. Things that come to mind are movies like Inception or American Psycho. I haven't yet seen an anime that has done this well, but I'm still looking for some. |

1. Anime, then manga. 2. All of them. 3. Tsundere. 4. None in particular. 5. The design. 6. Yes, but not on MAL. 7. Not an anime convention properly, but an event about japanese culture that also featured anime. 8. Never paid attention to them so cant comment. 9. I like when there is no CGI. Bad CGI to me is worse than bad animation. Good CGI is just ok. 10. Never used Anilist so cant answer. 11. Vivy. 12. I feel like this year had many great OPs, so I will answer with one that stand out for being unique: Shadows House. For ED I will go with this season Mushoku Tensei. 13. Tate no Yuusha S2. 14. Clear conclusion. |

1. Anime 2. Shounen 3. Tsundere 4. 2011-2020 5. I like the design. One of the few reasons I didn't change to anilist. Old > modern 6. Always subjective. Everyone has a particular taste; everyone has its own point of view about a same subject 7. Nah, I don't think I will. Just isn't my thing 8. Depends on how much I trust him, actually 9. I really dislike full CGI on anime nowadays, but I would like to see something on Unreal Engine 4 (like Fire Force season 2 first ending song) 10. Same as '5', but anilist is way better if you want to update manwha and manhua 11. Sequel: Fruits Basket Non sequel: Link Click 12. Hard to say, this year was such a banger. I'll pick both Idaten OP and ED 13. Bleach, perhaps? 14. Clear conclusion |

1. Anime 2. Shounen 3. Yandere 4. 2010s 5. I like a lot of things actually but just being able to have my own list and see others is already fun in itself not to mention the reviews at times 6. Not really 7. No 8. Depends of the users 9. Don't really mind it but when it's le epic bear from Golden Kamuy or Berserk 2016... at least it can be funny 10. Never used or cared about anilist, don't plan to 11. Odd Taxi 12. Jojo part 6 13. It's hard to choose only one but if I had to it would be Mob Psycho 100 III 14. Depends how it's done honestly but I have to admit it tends to be more satisfying for me when there's a clear conclusion |

1. Anime (followed by Manga, then light novel) 2. Shounen (next favorite would be Seinen) 3. Yandere (always need more crazies, but preferably well-written ones) 4. 2010s (at least according to MALgraph) 5. When Moderators come and edit things based on personal preference and not website policy (oh? you wanted a serious answer? Probably MALgraph then) 6. I try to be as objective as possible for 80% of a show's rating (Story, Art, Sound, Characters), but obviously it's impossible to rate "Enjoyment" on a scale of objectivity. 7. Nope, not a fan of crowds. Only way I'd consider going is if I was dating someone who was interested in going, or maybe with my sister, if she bribed me sufficiently. 8. I'll look at what they recommend, but ultimately I'll only watch it if I think I might enjoy it. 9. CGI isn't awful, but I definitely prefer something animated by actual humans. 10. Never used Anilist. Recent changes here have annoyed me though. Like breaking up genres into genres and themes (means I basically have to click on every anime and then look in multiple places to get an idea of what the anime is about, WAAAAY more inefficient than it used to be) 11. Haven't watched many, but I'm loving Ousama Ranking right now. 12. Not sure, loving Ousama Ranking's OP, but Iruma's OP and ED were pretty solid too. 13. Honestly don't stay informed on when things are coming out. I like the pleasant surprise I get from hearing that something came out after it came out. Don't really care about something I get to enjoy in X amount of months/years (could be dead by then, just facts lol. Also, I mainly binge, so I usually hear about them when they come out, and then still wait to watch them) 14. Kinda depends, but 90% of the time, id prefer a clear conclusion |
