When was it exactly that good light novels got adapted in the first place? Most light novels don't make it past one season of anime which is far FAR from a full adaptation even if they're great. That's like 2-3 volumes of a ongoing much longer book series. The anime are just promotional tie-ins to increase the book sales at this point.

The only full adaption I know of is maybe Shakugan no Shana since the 3rd season feels like the end but I haven't read the series.

Gosick, Durarara, Fate/Zero, Fate/Apocrypha, Gundam Unicorn, Legend of the Galactic Heroes, My Youth Romantic Comedy is Wrong as I Expected, and Toradora are all complete to my understanding. And let's not forget that A Certain Magical Index, Sword Art Online, and Monogatari have dozens of episodes and continue to get new seasons.

Because there are more factors of an adaptation being created than whether the source material is not "garbage."

That being said, off the top of your head could you even name five light novels that aren't "garbage" that haven't gotten adaptations. My assumption would be no if you've never read a novel at all.

You don't need to read light novels in order to have an opinion about them. This isn't 15 years ago. There are so many Anime adaptions of them now that you can just watch them.
This looks to me like you admitted you haven't read any. Anyways...

And? that STILL doesn't mean I haven't read any. All I said was that it wouldn't matter even if I didn't read any due to the fact that LN adaptions are common now days.

I changed the title.

It's not any better. Why does it matter that anime based on novels are bad, when so many other anime remain great? Or are you trying to say that today's anime all suck?

That's exactly what I'd like to see more of. All of the LN adaptions that are coming out now are just horny neets in fantasy worlds like you say or have overly convoluted stories like Index where you literally need a road map as a guide in order to watch it. I just miss when we got decent-good LN adaptions like the ones you listed as well as others like Full Metal Panic, Baccano and Durrara.

Oh, so that's what you mean by "garbage." Too bad your premise is faulty, as we do continue getting "decent-good" anime.

Oh yeah the "I can name 5 LN Anime adaptions that may be good so it means that they aren't bad overall" Invalid argument. Try again.

You're literally making assumptions. Just because I said that does not mean that I haven't read anything. I meant that even if someone didn't read the LN it doesn't matter cause there is an Anime adaption for damn near every LN now.

I’d be able to name more than 5 if I watched every anime. But I didn’t, and neither did you.

If only classroom of the elite had more seasons. ryuuen vs ayanokoji would be amazing to see. a physical battle alongside a stragtical battle. fucking brilliant. more fans of the show would come along.

and the chess match with sakayangai. and tsukishro. the possibilities for more seasons yet these trash ones get adapted. fucking harem garbage with no substance

hmm... if i had to guess, it's because you think the only light novels getting adapted are garbage, that's about the gist of it right?

Because the production committee, investors etc are fan of those light novels too.
It doesn't matter if you like LoGH,Monster etc.If you are a jobless or college/school dropout living in your mom basement, you are still an unintelligent loser. Taste in anime does not make you a better person.

Maybe but for every one of those there's a:

Absolute Duo
Accel World
Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero
Akashic Records of a Bastard Magical Instructor
Alderamin on the Sky
Amagi Brilliant Park
The Ambition of Oda Nobonaga
And You Thought There Was Never a Girl Online
Assassin's Pride
Baccano
Baka and Test
Beautiful Bones
Black Blood Brothers
Black Bullet
Boogiepop and Others
Cautious Hero: The Hero is Overpowered but overly cautious
Chivalry of a Failed Knight
Chrome Shelled Regios
Cop Craft
Dances With the Dragons
A Dark Rabbit Has Seven Lives
Death Marxch to the Parallel World Rhapsody
Denpa Teki na Kanojo
The Devil is a Part Timer
Full Metal Panic
GATE
Ghost Hunt
Ground Control to Psychoelectric Girl
Haganai
Haruhi Suzumiya
Hundred
Hyouka
In Another World With My Smartphone
Isekai Cheat Magician
Kurenai
Legend of the Legendary Heroes
Lord Marksman and Vanadis
Magical Warfare
Maoyu Mao Yousha
The Misfit of Demon King Academy
Moribito
The Mystic Archives of Dantalian
No Game No Life
Okami san and Her Seven Companions
Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World
Problem Children are Coming From Another World Aren't They?
Rokka: Seven Braves of the Six Flowers
Sacred Blacksmith
Sky Wizards Academy
Spice and Wolf
Sunday Without God
Tokyo Ravens
Trinity Blood
Tytania
Unbreakable Machine Doll
Undefeated Bahamut Chronicle
When Supernatural Battles Became Commonplace
Wiseman's Grandchild

...which could use more seasons and probably have the material. Granted some of those got more than one season, but I wouldn't really call them active projects at the moment.

Hi I am new to the forum
I'll give you several reasons why light novel writings are most of the time garbage (keep in mind this is a subjectivity zone here all novels suck as much as the American counterparts).

Reason number one - Sturgeons law, sigh where do I even begin with Sturgeon‘s law? The whole saying that all 90% of content online are most of the time shit And only 10% of light novels are written good. To me personally, the updated version in my opinion is most Content in the light novel scene is 94% shit and only 5% good.

Reason number two – (I know I’m gonna get a lot of shit for this in the replies) pantsers galore. Yes pantsers may have a good imagination and only imagine the story as they go but most of the time most of their pantsers stories sucks balls. (did you know the SAO is bad fanfiction of an old Japanese book called Dot hack? Yeah look it up). In order to get a good story follow the Dan Harmon story circle and plot out your characters in your story before you start writing light novels.

Reason number three – (like America mostly)…money! I have read another comment that the publishing companies in the US aren’t as bad as the ones selling the light novels in Japan (I may be paraphrasing the comment but I digress). Of course the American publishing companies are not that great. Shit that got published in the states are abusive assholes from a bad One Direction fanfic, BDSM promotion from a twilight fanfic Most Ya written were mostly harry potter knock offs.

believe me you are not seeing most of the shit Booktok that’s being Greenlit. Not counting Wattpad in the US. You can write out a nice outlined story following the Dan Harmon story circle nobody watches it!

When you make up a stupid Isekai about spoons talking to Anthropomorphic animals that talks of course that’s gonna sell an anime adaptation and a toy deal! money money money! Most of the publishing that sells Light novels are most of the time all about money.
