lol ppl in comments went just butthurt cause the Yurizoned MC.

I liked this movie, and it delivered what i was specting the moment they started the Home Alone nonsense (and dangerous!) gags (but less cringe than the famous 90's movie).

Btw, i didn't see any cringe moments that any anime fan should not be used. Anohana confessions was a lot worse and it is an well received anime.

The end would be better if MC and the sport girl started to date, since they have a strong thing in common: know everything about a little lesbian who moved to Tokyo, lol

The characters got a nice devenlopment for a movie, and Mallet was a great plot device.

The Thai tributes were nice. Hope Mallet's family find a place to stay and work without xenophobic japaneses nor salty anime critics lol

Obvious issue with this is that it's too busy as far as plot and characters go. Had this been a TV anime, you might be able to do more with fleshing out the story, themes, and characters for it.

Most people didn't understand the story.

The goal of the seven days war was make sure Malet gets to her parents before she was captured to be in custody of some government agency.
What they did was a success, including enjoying their youth and being able to properly express their feelings

Also, the yuri was hinted, it wasn't random as one of the users here commented.

P.S. But I still rate this movie average 5/10. Everything they did while running away was anxiety-enducing lol

Through a chance, a young immigrant, the children become rebellious, but those children end up growing and becoming adults in essence....

The best, the scene of confessions, some incredible....

Anyway, it is still an average movie....

5/10
Exactly.

Another case of Toki wo kakeru Shôjo: "Let's adapt the book by remaking the story in modern time, giving it a technological twist, with a relative of the original heroine."

And so, we get constant use of annoying tech like internet cellulars, social networks, etc.
Good point: they're nicely exploited, especially with the last turnabout.

Anyway, what do we have here:
Average cinema jap.animation with shortcuts, bland design, obviously digitally moved backgrounds, generic types of teenage characters (but that's the story's goal, like any Breakfast Club) and the usual "moral". Don't forget the mandatory pop song montage.
It's still somewhat fun. And despite how "anime dramatic" (and expected) it is, the heroes breaking point is a bit above the rest. The inclusion of a character between childhood and adulthood also helps to gulp the strongly childish taste of this adventure. Finally, the classic "heroic" final love declaration lacking the expected result added a light sense of satisfaction to the package.

Good movie. I honestly don't have many complaints beyond wanting an epilogue and a more fleshed out story.

Thematically most of the characters didn't really need to be there (especially incel guy). Logistically they needed the manpower. It would have been cool to see more strategic warfare tactics, but there's only so much a bunch of kids can do with limited resources. It's disappointing that Mamoru didn't get his girl, but I can't blame Aya for falling for a sexy tomboy.

As it stands it stands, it doesn't really feel like they accomplished anything beyond revealing their secrets. Aya still went to Tokyo. We don't know if she's actually with Kaori or even if Kaori returned her feelings. The loli is back in Thailand. Mamoru is still ostensibly alone without a girlfriend. Incel guy and trendy girl are a question mark. Bullied guy's life is probably hell. I really thought it would cap off with Aya staying in Hokkaido and them all becoming a tight-knit friend group.

7.5/10. Hits all the right notes but lacks closure.

I liked it, 8/10.

Shocked so many people didn't see the yuri coming, I thought Kaori liking Aya was obvious as heck and once Mamoru and Aya had the conversation on the roof I realized that Aya liked Kaori too, so I was kind of waiting for that shoe to drop.

Big problem with the movie is that Aya's father got away with all the horrible stuff he did in the movie and that I would really like to see what happened to everyone afterwards, like the 5 of them are in trouble.

Annoying relevant movie too.

Its peak generic. Nothing unique besides the immigration plot. And of course the confession scene was peak corniness.
5/10 as average as can be.
