Is there actually a difference between the fanservice in TV shows with nudity like Game of Thrones and Anime?
| A lot of what I feel has already said, and I strongly agree with @Maz, @DoomDoctor, and @Pullman. The difference between nudity in Game of Thrones and most anime is that anime tries too hard and rarely uses it for anything meaningful. There can't just be a scene with naked people, they have to turn it into some obnoxious, cringy, boob grab or MC walking in on a pair of tits scene, or otherwise dominating the show with it. It isn't a double standard to me, I simply hate the way sexuality (if you can even call it that) is portrayed in anime in most cases. And like @bottle said, it doesn't even vaguely normal nudity or sexuality, but caters to perversity, the viewers desire to be in these situations. Even Game of Thrones can be a bit annoying because I love the show and want to see the plot progress, but even when the fan service is taking priority in a scene, they at least go all the way and show people having sex/being naked in a situation where it feels natural. |
