| Michelle sees Akari as more than a subordinate now~ An adorable pig bastard xD Yaeko getting bought over easily by the false promise of big lunch money and that Terraformer literally using ODM is just like Attack on Titan in a funny way. Those hallucinatory head hand creatures are straight outta Franken Fran with the same level of grotesqueness~♥ Akari being 6th on the MARS rankings which involved the elite officers tells me that he's actually better than one of the elite (we're looking at you, Liyu). Awesome! The Russian team looks like it's composed of people with combat experience. I was surprised that they used plant-types and psychological torture against the roaches. That Russian King Crab just choke-holding that roach while ignoring the desperate pummels of its comrades was a sight to see~ His type of flashback felt less slow than the others ones as well. Adolf with the coke has some sort of flamebug power and it seems that it won't end very well for him and his division... |

| Those head spiders are quite the unsettling hallucination. Not surprised even the allegedly fearless terraformars were going insane over them. What the hell happened to the Chinese group? They were vaporised. |

| so the diving bug was super weak, that's why it didn't just rip apart the woman while descending the water, but like why? when even the normal roaches are crazy fast/strong...one with a diving bug "upgrade" type thing is somehow a lot weaker just with specific advantages. also not a fan of the talking/beefing/joking with each other while in a life or death scenario with the bugs in front of them, happened terribly before (in a diff ep) with that guy doing Dogeza to his squad while they're facing down a group of bugs. And again with the main guy and woman when they're facing the grasshopper one in the beginning of this ep. It's just insanely unrealistic and feels silly. The series tries to paint the bugs as almost impossibly fast to keep up with and strong enough to slaughter people like they're nothing, like the humans are the bugs themselves...but at the same time the characters don't have to be present in combat at all, and have all the time in the world to handle their interpersonal drama while the bugs idle doing nothing instead of easily slaughtering them all. not that "realistic" is something it needs to be, seems silly to say that with the show's premise, but we need to be able to at least believe in the world as the author presents it. It contradicts itself and makes it hard to buy into anything within the series by being that inconsistent. It means I'm just gonna shrug at any lore or attempts to explain things later because why does it matter? If the series isn't consistent with it's own stuff anyway. maybe it's the comedy element that would potentially allow it to be like this? like it would be forgivable as a gag manga, but as it feels like it wants to be taken at least partially seriously it makes it feel a bit more egregious. |
