Tokidoki Bosotto Russia-go de Dereru Tonari no Alya-san Episode 1 Discussion

Well, I think the right words to describe this first episode are "pleasant surprise"

it starts very straight forward and already presents the idea that the anime will continue in this way throughout the episodes, of being something direct and simple for you to watch and have your heart warmed by Alya and Masachika's interactions, and speaking of which, I think it's the first time I've watched a novel in which the main male character isn't a weird pervert, possibly an inconvenient stalker, at most we have a scene or two of him being a little weird, but nothing that will make you want to give a punch through one's own head
That said, 7/10, I really liked this first episode

@aurora_yuuki Honestly, this anime was a great find, I'm not much of a fan of following anime seasons to find out what's coming out/creating interest in watching something, although I follow social media a lot and find out about some release or other

until one fine day when browsing my tiktok I see some scenes from this anime and decide to go after it and oops, apparently I found a gold mine here

I simply LOVE everything about Masachika and Alya's dynamic, perhaps it's one of the couples I'm most rooting for and I want to see everything work out for these two, and not only their interactions but all the characters are very charismatic and captivating, The whole drama of Masachika's family, his sister, is all very interesting (the smiling moment of these two... CINEMA!)
I think it's definitely one of the animes to make your heart warm ever made

I don't know but I doubt he did since he says he had barely the time to work on V9 with the anime production and that there is a V4.5 alike volume supposed to be out this winter before volume 10.

Yeah he talked about it a lot in the afterword.
(He also said Sumipe bought an Alya oppai mouse pad so I have to say she is kind of an Alya simp)

It isn't bad so far but quite basic for a romcom regarding its characters and what it does (some will appreciate the fan service for sure though), I don't speak Russian but it sounds very fake right? I may be wrong though, but it seems to be that kind of very strong they have when they try to speak English or French in anime

Great art and animation, it seems like a cherry to the eye type of anime.

Hah, I quite like this dynamic. I thought it would go on with her being bashful in Russian while he was clueless but the fact that he actually understands her and chickens out makes it even better and funnier.

I thought it would be like Takagi-san where she always teases him and that storyline tends to get bland after you've seen it for a bit but the comedy is stronger here, MC otaku culture gags play off better for comedy. Possibly cause of being able to relate. Sounds like it could be light hearted and fun show to watch.
