It was an enjoyable anime for what it is.

It also feels very refreshing, despite it just being a comedy (I guess it is a romcom as well, and not just a comedy alone).

And it does have some nice drama scenes every now and then for character development.

Its always nice to see a rom-com when the male MC is fun to follow around.

The rauchy-humor of the anime doesnt come off as "stupid" or "immature". Its actually enjoyable for what it is

MC also has great inner-monologues and great inner-reactions to scenes.

MC, despite being in love, has a backbone.

Nice character development for the male MC, especially with why he picked up on the crime-books, his elementary school friends now gone history, and how now he views the school and everyone in a more positive way.

All characters had a charm to them.

And its in middle school, which is usually the most fun school setting that there is in anime.

But I didnt like how the female MC many times came off as someone that was missing some IQ, like, I know the anime wanted to make her into this cutie-innocent girl despite her amazonian-physique, but many times, she just came off like she was missing a few screws in her head that she many times was unattractive.

I also didnt like how the male MC, by episode 03, was already in love with Yamada (he admitted it under the bed when Yamada was in the nurse office after hurting her nose). This changed the whole dynamic of the anime, and now instead of him having a unique interest in Yamada, he is now simply chasing her over and over simply because he is in love. And I really wished that Yamada had fallen in love with the male MC first or at the same time. For some reason, ive never been a fan of animes of when the male MC falls in love first with the girl that he will end up with.

I also wished that the anime was 10-episodes instead of 12-episodes, since some episodes/segments were meh.

It would have been nice, but not needed, if the anime disclosed early as to why the male MC acts all "emo" and "odd", with the book and personality, and not just release that info on the final episode.

Off to the ONA and season 02. Not really sure what to expect from season 02, since comedy animes (even romcoms) lose their steam after one-cour-season (10-to-13 episodes), unless season 02 decides to become more of a dramedy like Toradora and Golden Time. And because the male MC already had nice development in this season 01, I dont need a season 02; im fine with the anime ending this way like it did in episode 12, but I guess they want to progress the romance. But off to season 02.

@oooo3333 since when he was chasing her?? In fact he is trying to avoid her & she's the one that chasing him after she start have a feeling for him in the middle of season.

Poor Ichimura getting tag teamed on about his crush by both his sister and said crush lol

Watching our guy's journey from being an edgy loner obsessed with plotting murders in his head to willingly leaning into that hug was nothing short of beautiful. The gradual development of his and Yamada's mutual crushes on each other was also just the fluffiest thing ever from how natural it all felt.

Wish I watched this while it was airing but at least there's still Season 2!
