| Old topic and mostly the answer would be: Yes and no. Yes in a short-term sense. No in A long term. The way anime market has worked for past 10 or so years you get a period of REALLY GOOD STUFF, and then a period of school-life/comedy fanservice, with occasional one or two good shows(for example the current Winter season), till you get a boom of good stuff again. repeat for years. |

And with the amount of anime that is released every year, 10 overall is a very small control group, because not only would you have to sample current anime to determine it was bad, you'd also have to sample old anime to determine that it was better, thereby making the current stuff bad. I'd say it is impossible to make a valid determination of a claim that bold based on such a minuscule sample size. |
