I'd say the primary theme of this episode is self-acceptance. Leon's always been outcasted from the rest of the observatory's inhabitants because of his tumultuous past, and I feel like his warning about his ridiculously high work efficiency rendering Violet's aid useless in the beginning is a reflection of how he shuns away his own personality characteristics. Violet's interaction with the other observatory guys showed Leon that there's nothing wrong in being your true self, a lesson which came into full bloom at the end of the episode when Leon pledges to Violet that he'd travel the world and live in accordance to his own wishes. Additionally, Violet's character development was satisfying to see in this episode. Her understanding of human emotions is deepening, as seen by the multiple conversations she had with Leon throughout the episode. Violet is becoming more human herself, and hence her character is becoming more relatable and humanised.

A bit jarring they just ignored the cliffhanger from last episode but aside from that it was a nice episode.

Well this was another banger. I don't really have any words to say other than that it's the typical Violet Evergarden experience of drawn out moments, beautiful score and lovely portrayal of different types of love. Poor guy got separated from Violet it'd be nice to see them meet again. Very nice.
