At first when looking at the trailer and clips around the time the movie was about to come out, I hated looking at Goku being beat so easily by Lord Beerus in SSJ3. It pissed me off really, especially considering how random this new character felt coming out of nowhere.
But now that I've seen the whole movie, I've come to love it. It is 5 (or 10) years after Buu was defeated.
Somehow Buu is still good and in his fat form even though he got completely destroyed by Goku's spirit bomb. And so the story goes with Lord Beerus, the God of Destruction who destroys planet like nothing, who has just woken up from a 39 year sleep. From a premonition (a vision) he believes that he will fight with Goku in Super Saiyan God Mode. So he goes to earth to fight him because he believes Goku will be his best arch enemy and rival that can compete against his powerful level of strength. During the movie, while it's Bulma's 38th birthday, with the whole gang, Beerus after defeating Goku in a sparring match with only two blows in King Kai's planet, goes later to Earth.
With his teacher, Whis, eat in the Capsule Corp home and try out the manny great foods of Earth enjoying themselves at first while Vegeta tries his best to keep Lord Beerus in tack so he doesn't get mad and destroy planet Earth. So much that he ridicules himself with a dance and singing to entertain Beerus and keep his family and friends safe. It was hilarious. Along with that, Emporer Pilaf, with his sidekicks Shuu and Mai are in child form attempting to steal the dragon balls. Trunks falls in love at first sight to Mai even though she'll be turning 31 in May. The comedy level was great with that bunch, and Vegeta. And the whole gang in general. A beautiful sight at the party. Another great news is Videl is pregnant with Gohan's child. So cute.
So after Buu gets Lord Beerus mad and the gang start fighting Beerus, Goku finally arrives. Summons Shenron who even he is flustered by Lord Beerus' presence, asks how to become a SSJ God.
And that is by having 5 saiyans to give their energy to one saiyan. Gohan, Vegeta, Trunks, Goten, and the child of Gohan/Videl.
And so an epic battle commences with Goku attaining God Mode strength after experiencing it and unleashing it, not at will, but possible, with great want to unleash it. He might do it at will one day.

After the great battle, Beerus decides to let Earth go for their great food and respects Goku's strength. And mentions that there are 12 universes with stronger people than them in different dimensions.
And the voice acting is great, but I feel some of the voice actors are different or they changed their pitch.
Score, 8/10, 'cause it wasn't amazing or legendary or anything, it was just a damn great dbz movie.
