| It's good to be back, it happens often to think "yeah, Death Note is cool but not a personal top 10 favorite of mine at this point" but to be honest i'm still fond of it for how it managed to deliver the great expectations given by the early plot and for how it has become a gateway series for multiple people and even personal friends who weren't even interested in anime to begin with. "This world sucks"... yeah, even if it sucked less hard in the mid 2000's. "i had no doubt that it worked" yeah, sure (in fact, he contradicts himself later) Great interactions between Light and Ryuk since day one, great reactions for the former when he discovers the Death Note power is real, how he's straight up honest about his mission no matter how questionable it can seem for someone else, and obviously great italian dub that is considered among the best in this country (and it's seriously something notable - pun intended - considering the great tradition of this job in italy itself) for very good reasons. |

| I was surprised about how like litterally dark the show was. I mean like the lighting of all of settings. I watched the all the live action ones exept for L: Change the World and Death Note: Light Up the New World. I am also in the middle of reading vol. 5 of it. I have only watched episode 1 though over these past few days and I think I am liking it so far. Others are sayin they dont care for it or its too fast or too slow but I loved it. I think it gets slower but other than that it seems fine. I am also in love with Light and might be falling for L soon... (,,>ࡇ<,,) I'm pretty sure I'm straight but Misa is also fine asl!! Love her style and the overall goth/y2k graphics of the series. |

| Rewatching the first episode because I had stopped. This time I will finish it. I think Light's original goal was pretty good... eliminating the bad guys from the world. But then becoming a God? That's pretty crazy, but I can say it makes sense when anyone has a book as magical as the Death Note in their hands. I wonder if Light will write his mother's name one day or not. |

| I put off watching this show for WAY too long man. The OP is great, and this one episode does an amazing job at setting the tone for the show. I haven't finished reading the manga yet, but it's October, and I just had to start watching this. |

| I wonder why Ryuk's eyes never close... anyway.. I am enjoying this again haha. The direction towards the end is so sensational ~ love it! Even though it's my 2nd watch, I couldn't help replay many scenes - just for the direction.. I don't remember Light saying he was bored! I always thought he had God-complex and was swept away thinking he was doing the society "good". Voice acting for Ryuk is just great.. and the Godly Gregorian chants.. What a start for an anime.. amazing. |
| So I have a confession to make… I’ve never seen Death Note lol, this is year 12 or something of me being an anime fan, albeit there was a gap between 2015-2017 of not watching any, and just haven’t gotten around to it until now, despite this being a lot of people’s introduction to anime or one of their firsts. Well me and a buddy of mine decided to hit it, I think he’s seen it before but it’s the first time for me, did the same thing with Future Diary recently, and this was quite the first episode to start. For some reason I always thought Light was the other guy on the key visual of the show lol, so that’s something that’s been cleared up all these years later, and boy does he have ambitions or what, he was just a smart high school student one day and the next he’s trying to become god, yeah he’s killing criminals but I wonder how long it’ll be before he starts killing people that don’t deserve it, or maybe he won’t do that, we’ll see. Also I like Ryuk, bro is funny lol, didn’t think I’d like an otherworldly demon this much, looking forward to more of him, the whole not going to heaven or hell thing sounds really interesting too. And with this being from Fall 2006, the visuals are very of that time and I absolutely love it, shows from this time period just hit such a specific way, it will never be recreated perfectly. OP and ED also rip, very cool visuals too, and looks like they stick around for 19 episodes or so, very nice. I guess I’m in for the long haul for this one, should be some interesting discussions with my buddy in the coming months because we watch slowly lol. |
