I remember stumbling upon the trailer before and the quality then was quite unimpressive and after watching the episode, it still is. I haven't read the source material but after looking at some of the artwork, it does seem like they butchered the character designs. As someone who reads a lot of fantasy/isekai/tensei/cultivation/etc, an adaption like this, without good visuals to carry it, I'm expecting very little of.

just after one episode you dropped then you should really consider not watching anything at least give some time to build .

I thought there are quite a lot of similarities, but this one grabbed my attention from the opening song to the very end.

@Yasminaa similarities end when Rudy leaves for his Journey to become Eris' mentor. So basically season 1 to an extent.

After that TBATE it gradually Hits a 180°. Diverges from it completely. Otherwise, why would it have such a dedicated fanbase?!

WISHED I COULD ALSO GET TRANSPORTED TO A WORLD FULL OF MAGIC And DUNGEONS, please take me there too if you could (⁠ ⁠◜⁠‿⁠◝⁠ ⁠)⁠♡

The character designs are just like they are in the beginning of the manhwa. My problem is the animation and dull comp.

Since I didn't read the manhwa, I don't know how great this series is and the potential it could reach. but for an oblivious first time watching it as an anime, I think the first episode was good, not great, and neither horrible. just good.
but when I saw the trailer first time I notice the horrible cgi/animation in some scenes and it gave me ptsd from one of the greatest what could've been( berserk season 2 ) with the horrendous garbage animation. 🙃🙃🙃
such a wasted adaptation with this horrible studio 💔
I'll still keep watching it because I like anime more than reading manhwa. but for sure, it could've been way better if another studio handled the production ( A1 for example) 🙃

I am in shock at just how bad everything about this show is. I can't think of a show that has been worse in a very long time. Especially not a show with such high PTW. I don't understand how they let this go through instead of delaying it to a different season and fixing it.

honestly i went in thinking it was doomed but it wasn't as bad as a lot are making out to be. I do still wish it got a better studio as a fan of the manwha at least but it's still alright for me for now at least. I'll have to see how the action scenes turn out too

TBATE does what Mushoku Tensei don't!

In the first episode of Mushoku Tensei we are introduced to the world's creation myth through diagetic means through the story telling of a "larping couple" living in a detailed world where books are rare, languages must be learned, and physical rooms in buildings have reasons to exist. Furniture is detailed, and clothing is made to fit the weather, and characters study the world.

On the other hand, in the first episode of TBATE: our main character comes from a world with ki, but cannot comprehend magic, instantly knows the languages, characters walk around in modern shirts and blue jeans, everyone only speaks in exposition, and nothing of interest happens.

There is more soul in born in another world with my smart phone, ero-manga sensei has more interesting characters. The only time i've seen worse voice acting is from the Vietnamese dub of Azumanga diaoh.

Overall impressively bad. Blue Lock season 2 has better animation.

A very nice start. Arthur sure was a cruel king in his previous life, but he was given another chance in this life. Now, he understands what a family is, what parents are, and what love is. It was beautiful to see him experience it for the first time. He's a prodigy and a smart boy. We also saw the magic system of the world.

Very Mushoku-Tensei Inspired but it's good. It does its own thing, so no problems on that end. The production could've been better but it's nothing that would make my watching experience bad. It's a very watchable show. Enjoyed the first episode a lot. Can't wait to see where things go from here.

Arthur's papa and mama are really sweet. I love them.

I watched the human demon lord anime from this same studio and the animation is 100% going to be total ass, expect the worst cgi monster you can imagine.

Other than that, the story seems.... unimaginative. I don't know how people go crazy over these cookie cutter manhwas/ web novels

It’s crazy how the most powerful king was reincarnated into a normal baby, but with the ability to create his own mana core after studying.

The animation is not the best, but maybe they will improve it. Hope it’s going to be a decent anime.

The episode was listed for 22 minutes including both theme songs and subs. It briefly got leaked from its unlisted playlist.

@Stark700 It doesen´t change anything... Studio A cat should just disband at this point... They got one of the best Isekai stories in the world and did it dirty... And It´ll still get positive reviews I don´t get it.

Purely watched because of the premiere, if I'm being completely honest. I remember thinking this might be fun when it was first announced but then seeing the PV and realising what kind of the usual-isekai-story it'd turn out to be, I lost interest. Can't say this reignited that just yet and given the mediocre quality, I'm not too sure just yet. It's always nice to see some appreciation for the roles of a parent though, that was unexpectedly warm.

Parallels to Mushoku Tensei? I kept seeing this in the chat during the premiere which is pretty accurate, I suppose. Will this manage to hold up like the other did will be the million dollar question here...

Not sure about the Op just yet. Quickly had a google search while the Op was going on and it seems interesting that a Filipino rock group is in charge and the creator being ethnically Korean makes this quite the international project, eh? ED seems pretty decent though.

@_MushiRock11_ Yeah, I feel the same way. But the story is infact better then mushoku tensei... But the animation is bad, the va is bad... Everything about this show is bad. The manhwa have better animations than this

I explored the forums first, which made me focus more on the animation. Frankly, it was just PNG images sliding around, lacking depth. The story didn't grab my interest from the start. While the sci-fi world initially piqued my curiosity, the way the episodes unfolded led me to believe it wouldn't be anything remarkable.

I'll wait for the 2nd episode and then probably drop it.

The episode was more than just mid. It reminded me a lot of Mushoku Tensei. Same power system as 50% of all isekai, so zero originality. And don’t even get me started on the trash animation. But honestly, I really hope I end up changing my mind later on.
