| Konnichi wa everyone. I am Michael and I really belong here. I am 65 going on about 22 (LOL). I' ve been an anime fan since around 1963 with Astro Boy, Gigantor and a couple others. Back then there wasn't much so I lost interest until I was stationed on Okinawa in 1970-71. I watched some rather poorly subbed work there and then returned to USA, where there was nothing, so I lost interest again. Then, in 2005 I saw episode 1 of FLCL and the rest is history. I have been avid since then. I have watched around 700 titles and the list grows. My leanings are toward good Slice-of -Life stories with deep character development. I do, however enjoy most genres of anime. A mystery or quality Ghost Story will get me every time. I'm an avid reader as well, probably read 900-1200 books, most are involved reading. Little fiction except Sci-Fi. Even tho' an avid reader, I'm not into manga much, as I like color in my comics. Just a personal preference. Since I live on the coast, I am a fisherman and hopeless beachcomber (a beach bum at heart). I'm also a lifelong baseball fan, any level from Little League to Major League and international play. |

| @Zylixae Welcome! Sounds much like myself: 22, delinquent/renegade in ways, student haha I used to play poker a lot too (around 2-5 years ago), but recently went anti-poker. My friends play a ton of online poker and have tried getting me to play with them, but it's just too time-consuming and repetitive for my tastes. If anything, I only play casually, as I've taken less interest in money and card/online games and more interest in anime, karting, and everything else life has to offer. Also, nice to see that you have similar interests anime-wise. I would recommend stuff, but I'm not sure where to start. |

| Names Jeff, im 27 years old and im from Oregon, on the western coast of the united states. The town i live in is kind of a small back water town, not much going on here unfortantly. So most of my anime buddies that i meet are online. I do have a few friends that live close to me how ever that are into anime. My hobbies include computers, video games and anime. I am working really hard in college trying to get a degree as a computer software analysis. I do have some experience with managing and diagnosing computers when they have failures, rather it be software or hardware related. I love to read books of fictional/fantasy or science fiction and watch movies with the same genres. Favorite Book series is from J R R Martin "A song of ice and fire" Regarding anime, i am generally a very open minded individual, i usually am not very picky bout anime, i will pick up pretty much anything i can get my hands on and watch it, rather it be stuff from the 80's the 90's the 2000 era or even modern series. My general belief is that all anime deserves a try, rather if its intimidating or not by the cover art, etc. I have actually found some series that looked like it would not interest me in the slightest but ended up being one of my favorite shows of all time. For any user who is viewing my anime list, i have fixed it, so it shouldn't have issues not displaying properly due to, too many entries. One of these is "Now and then here and there" or "Princess tutu", or "Revolutionary girl Utena" I do how ever generally prefer historical series that take place during the sengoku period or the meji era of japan. Those are my favorite types of series and genre. But i like a wide variety of shows including, mahou shoujo, shounen, seinen, action, slice of life, harem's, horror, and yes even shoujo to some extent. I am always willing to give out recommendations to anyone for any fan out their. I am a huge fan of role playing games in general, so if you like video games, i am always willing to discuss anything video game related. I also have a backloggery account, same account as my user name on MAL. PSN, XBL, Wii, my account name is the same. So IF you add me to any one of these accounts, make sure you let me know who you are and that your from MAL. I am usually very friendly to the community on here and treat people with as much respect as i can. If for some reason your intimated by my large text of information on your walls, just let me know, because some times i do tend to get a bit chatty, after all i love the community and aside from using this site to organize my anime, that is really mainly the reason i am here is to get involved in the community, discussion boards, clubs, etc. Well that about covers my introduction, if you would like to know more bout me, just read my profile page. Although currently i am trying to get it fixed. |

| Hi everyone, I finally joined MAL just the other day. Decided to browse the clubs and this seemed to be right up my ally. I love both the anime of my childhood and all the great stuff thats being produced today. I'm 21 years old, currently in college and majoring in creative writing. I'm a guy who appreciates mostly slice of life/ comedie, mech/scifi, and action/adventure, animes, but I can appreciate anything that's just epic in some way. In my spare time I like to write (songs and roleplay mostly), work out, and cook foods. I hope to get to know you guys and gals and make some friends here. |
