In my imagination, afterwards the Nijima x Shiraishi families maintain a steady relationship because of what happened. Chika becomes like a 2nd mom to Mai. Mai becomes like an older sister to Marika. Perhaps down the line, Keisuke & Chika get married. Takae up in heaven, smiling.

I’m emotionally exhausted because I finished such a phenomenal anime! All my life, I’ve always said Ranma is the best anime because it was the first anime I ever watched. Then I’d say Conan is the best because it was part of my childhood and I got really attached. Then I’d get confused when people asked me what the best anime I’ve ever watched is. Really confused. Do I say Kingdom Season 3? 86? Blue Box? There were so many I couldn’t choose between! But now, with confidence, I can say Tsumasho is the best anime I’ve ever watched. Not just the best seinen—but the best anime I’ve watched, period!

I love family and everything it represents. This anime delivered a deep message about family. About love, loyalty, gratitude—so many values I already care about deeply in real life. And to see a work that focuses entirely on these values? It was perfect. The story was beautiful—just like Mai said to her husband, “Now is the right time for me to tell you a beautiful story...” She was right—it was a beautiful story. If I get married, I’ll make my wife watch this anime, haha! Why not? It’s just that good.

One quick note… I really thought Keisuke would marry Moriya in episode 10—even though deep down, I didn’t want him to. I wanted him to stay loyal to Takai until the very end. And even though I don’t mind someone remarrying after their spouse dies—it’s not betrayal or wrong and doesn’t lessen the importance of the first wife—for Keisuke? It’s different. He shouldn’t remarry. He’s in his 40s with an amazing daughter. Marriage just doesn’t seem essential at his age. Besides, he already has Takai in his heart, and the memories they built in that one year are enough for a lifetime! I was hoping it was all a prank or something—and it turns out he didn’t marry Moriya…

Also, the dream Keisuke had—I just wished Keisuke and Takai could sit and talk one more time in the real world! Have a serious conversation, even once! And that dream… that was the best scene. It was the most heartfelt goodbye. Even better than when they both said, “We’ll take care of Mai.”

Thank you to this anime. 10/10. Thank you for everything. Thank you for every second. Thank you for the wonderful story. I think this family will be my phone and laptop wallpaper for a while—until I bring Ranma back again in the future, haha.

A question for you, dear reader of my comment: Did you love the show? Share your opinion with me—send me a message or reply here! I’d genuinely love to hear your thoughts, even years from now. Don’t hesitate.

Nah wth was that ending about deceiving Takae. This anime was questionable, but not for the reasons I originally thought. Shame given that it's a pretty good "coping with a loss of a loved one" story outside of this.

In general a good anime. It started just okay (first 3 episodes), but episode 4 onwards the anime became exponentially engaging.

I have mixed feelings about they deceiving Takae like that. I know they were doing that for her, so she can move on in peace; it worked but it left a bitter taste in my mouth for obvious reasons.
I think they could have done that differently (for example: right after Mai's marriage or during it).
Unless that was their true intention instead of going for something more safe? But still...

What I specially liked in this anime is how the characters were more real; I mean, close to what could really happen in real life. Also, how they didn't keep Takae's secret for themselves until the end of the anime (I can see many animes doing that); they shared her secret (about possessing Marika-chan) with those close to them or with those who needed to know what was happening.

This is a 7.5/10 for me. But unfortunately Ill have to choose between 7 or 8, and I am leaning more towards 7/10.

I don't plan to fully read the manga, but I can't help but to check out the manga and see how much it differs -or not- from the anime.

I can’t stop, fu*k I can’t stop my tears, I’ve become a leaky faucet, Author the day I find you… This is a masterpiece, I can’t stop crying. I think I’m about to get a cardiac arrest, I hope I make it out alive, the heartache won’t stop.

A great anime. Very sad, very emotional. Lots of cute girls, milfs, and lolis to cheer for.

The story was done very well. I liked all the characters. I didn't care for Chika at first, but she really did redeem herself. The entire time though I felt like something was missing. There were so many potential directions for the show to go. So many serious and terrible things that could have happened. A part of me wanted to see what would happen if Keisuke ended up shunned at work, if he refused to let Takae go, if Chika got even worse. All interesting ideas that would have fundamentally changed the story. But at the same time I'm glad they didn't do any of them.

Mai's romance moved so fast. I realized it had to in order to fit within a year, but it was still crazy to witness.

A big part of me wanted to witness the full weight of Keisuke's grief like the first episode. Part of me wanted the first episode to show their happy life and Takae's death and then the next few mired in grief as things slowly devolved. It would have made the highs hit even higher, but it would have also completely changed the tone of the show.

I don't know. I'm wracking my brain, and I just can't figure out what's missing. I didn't really want Keisuke to marry Moriya either, although I would have been fine with it.

8/10. Something is missing. But if there's one thing that I took away from this show, it's that a loving wife and a loving mother can truly be wonderful things. Perhaps that's what's missing in the end. I've never had either of those. But then love stories can still touch my heart, even though I've never had a girlfriend. I don't know. Something is missing.
