I avoid One Piece, I try to not even look at images of One Piece, the character design makes me feel, I don't know the word, but it's this emoticon = 🤢
If you're a fanboy, please don't waste my time.

Watch more movies, please.

Kafka, Fu Xuan, Jingliu, Topaz and Huohuo.

Some I avoid because I expect them to be good and have anxiety about watching shows

Like, I've been avoiding Steins;Gate, Tokyo Ghoul, and Death Note for this reason

Not touching either of those though.

I have this strange tendency to avoid popular anime while its currently airing. Not too sure why though.

I also avoid romantic titles like I'm allergic.

Yes, i have a lot of anime i avoid, basically, i will just copy what i also wrote on my profile concerning this as it sums it up nicely:

- Anime that I WILL 100% ABSOLUTELY NEVER WATCH: BL, GL, Shounen-Ai, Shoujo-Ai, Yaoi, Yuri, Hentai, Smut, Incest, Paedophilia, Lolicon, Shotacon.

- Anime that i want to avoid and will likely never watch: CGDCT, Moe, Anime where all of the characters are female (Except Shoujo), Idol, Harem + Ecchi combo, Cars, Anime with crude/gross humour.

- Anime that i mostly avoid and will only watch if they really interest me: Ecchi, Anime with explicit violence (AKA Gore not just bloody violence), Horror, anime with animal abuse.

- Anime that i will very rarely watch, only if they really interest me: Sports, Mecha, Space, Male targeted Isekai.

Anime that are either a hit or miss with me: Romance, Drama, Comedy, School, Sci-Fi.
My Shoujo, Josei and Female targeted anime adaptations starting from 2017+ stacks:

One piece, I feel like I'd get hooked and drop any other animes I'm watching or planning to watch for like 3 months.

Most popular animes, they tend to be some shounen or something, and that genre never really was my cup of tea

Clean Freak! Aoyama-kun: I physically cringed while watching a clip from this show.

Fullmetal Alchemist: have been putting it off for the day I'm in the mood to watch it, the problem is I've started seeing so much stuff lately I want to get through that first before starting this show.

Aria franchise: watched the first season in order to get to the movies, just one episode from the second season and noped out of there. Been wanting to give it another shot someday.

Food Wars! The Fith Plate: just tired of seeing more of it, especially with the proper conclusion last season had. I also started watching Yakitate! Japan which filled its role as an enjoyable food anime replacement so far.

I'm avoiding AOT, One Piece, Naruto, Dragonball Z, and Mecha.
I know I got no taste for saying this, but I personally feel like I wouldn't like it. Before you go on my profile Code Geass might be the only mecha series I'll give a chance to.

An specific series no, but if we are talking about genres / tags yes: sports (unless it is something unusual), mecha, yuri (if not comedy oriented) and BL / yaoi (unless it piques my interest for whatever reason).

Weirdly I tend to put off series that I think I might really like. I guess I just always have to make sure I'm in the exact right mood to start them or something.

Otherwise, just the copy-paste answer of "genres I don't enjoy"

Mecha. Just doesn't appeal to me. And if I do watch a mecha show it's for the other aspects/if someone close to me recommends it. It's why I watched Code Geass and will be watching Eva eventually because of the psychological aspects, which is what I'm into. But all the mech fights in Code Geass were boring af to me, I tuned out during those moments.

Also, Fate, because the lore is WAY too confusing and the fandom is toxic af. Just don't want to be a part of that.

Very lengthy series in general and lengthy shounen particularly.. but I suddenly picked up FMAB and am watching it right now after avoiding it all these years so, IDK I may one day feel like watching them - especially because my young cousins want me to watch Naruto, Naruto Shippuuden, Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, Tokyo Ghoul etc..

Anime like Code Geass, Steins Gate, Psycho Pass - they look like anime I may enjoy but for some reason I avoid starting them. I'm more interested in other anime.

And also, Monogatari series.. I didn't enjoy the movies I watched, but I'm thinking of checking them again because I'm watching Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei and enjoying Studio Shaft very much and think I may have misunderstood Monogatari series..

I avoid gore, harem, and any fanservice heavy shows like a plague. These genres never interested me at all.

I used to avoid yuri anime because they're mostly made for the male audience to fetish lesbians. I got convinced to watch Bloom into you which became one of my favorites and I'm glad I watched it.

It hurts my heart to hear people avoiding staple anime like Naruto, One Piece and One Punch Man, but I support it. Especially Naruto, I love it SO much but I understand that time's have changed a lot. I avoid moe or loli things as much as I can these days, unless it subverts the trope.

Naruto's great. I pump the breaks at things like 'World Trigger'... shonens that are a tier lower than the heavy hitters. 'Yu Yu Hakusho' is one of my favorite shows of all time, and it's pretty much the grandaddy shonen. Nobody should totally abstain from the genre.

Yu Yu Hakasho is another incredible one. It just feels super sad to miss out on some of the most well-done, and heartfelt anime of not only the genre of shounen, but of anime in general! Naruto was a Shounen, comedy, ecchi, genderbend, drama, horror, all of it.... in one. Early 2000s anime were something special ;=;

Most certainly. They don't really make them like they used to. Shows like MHA miss the creativity and flare that you could find pretty regularly with older titles.

It really does. If it gets it, it gets it for one episode. The old stuff just had so much more love, and more TIME to be loved. Before we got 40 releases a season

I'll actively avoid watching anything made by Shaft since it turns out everything they make is bad.

And also Mob Psycho 100 because it's from the same creator as One Point Man. I eventually gave MP a chance and after one episode I noticed it was worse than OPM.

I avoid anything directed by Hideaki Anno after watching NGE and Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou.

Also Serial Experiments Lain, Texhnolyze, Ergo Proxy, etc. because I know I don't like pretentious and pseudo-intellectual anime based on my previous experience with them.

One Piece, it may be good or maybe way more good then I could expect but the from the length of the series, it's simply not possible for me to have enough of it to form a conclusion about it's quality, actually it wouldn't make sense if I just have to try to see whether I can watch much of it yet knowing I won't. For anime with specific genre, I would avoid watching anime with Echhi elements and Harem setting, didn't had a good time in both.

-Idol anime. I'm just not into idol stuffs.

-Chinese anime. I know some of them are good but I just not interested.

-Detective Conan and One Piece. I watched a bit of them when I was young. I lost interest for Conan when I become adult and I don't have any time to catch up tons of One Piece episodes(I started this during uni years) .

-Very popular anime. Not because they're bad but I prefer to watch them after the hype died, if I interested..

-I disliked harem anime until I watched
Heaven's Lost Property many years ago. Since that time,I give a chance to some harem anime. But since few years ago, I'm sort of not into anime like before so I tend to avoid harem and reverse harem anime when I search any anime to watch.

-Sports anime. I love Prince of Tennis and Slam Dunk but I watched them back when I was teenager.Lost interest case too.

-Some josei anime such as Nana, Paradise Kiss coz I can't stand some drama in josei. Although I love Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu, I love them mainly because of the seiyuu performance.

-Anime with incest, bl undertones and those that are too sexual.

There may be only one thing I avoid which can be some specific king of sports anime, I don´t want to watch all this "inspiring" battle sports anime like Haikyuu, Kuroko no Basket or Ao Ashi, but I really liked 3-gatsu no Lion and I definetly want to watch Chihayafuru and Slam Dunk, but that´s because I think they may be different in my head, also I don´t have a lot of Josei or Shoujo anime in my list, but that´s mainly because I may be seeing something I must be more interested in, so that´s not really evation

I will avoid 95% of romantic comedies or just romance anime (includes yuri, yaoi, etc.). I've watched some in the past and I actually liked them, but now I find the genre so boring that I don't really feel like watching any new ones or rewatching old ones. The only "recent" exception to this is Takagi-san, I'm planning on watching the 3rd season some time, I just don't know when.

Other than that, I'll mostly avoid battle shonens, even though I may be willing to give some a try if I'm interested in the series and watch it with other people (e.g. I asked a friend who is a diehard Bleach fan if we could watch the anime together, and I enjoyed a lot, but I'm sure I wouldn't have finished it by myself).
Good

I highly recommend Ashita no Joe, it's quite different from most sports anime. It's more of a Drama/SOL than sports tbh.
