| Well that was a pretty lame end for Siesta. So I assume we're done with her now and we'll continue in the present with Hel- I mean that black-haired girl? |
| Soo, after the very long backstory, at last, we reached the turning point. So is it actually how she died? She just gets her heart yoinked like that by Hel after trying to protect Kimi from a random monster attack... The fight in itself also lacked impact. |
| What....what were they even trying to do this episode? The animation and directing budget was utterly non-existent. Big bland open scenes. Moments that were supposed to be tense/dramatic, but the execution was pathetic. They're supposed to be fighting, but they spend more than half the time talking about crap that shouldn't matter if one ends up dead. The first moment it was though Siesta was dead. One, why was she alone and two, did they both seem to forget that Charlotte was fighting for her life alone right then? The lack of ability to read the situation just threw off any chance to take it seriously. This complete failure in direction meant that even at the end where we see Siesta as actually(?) dead means any emotional impact it should've had was completely stale. The way the series has just gone from ass-pull to ass-pull with these SPES characters means even now I can't even be sure whether they're going to pull something else later. It also means that Kimi being surprised Nagisa has Siesta's heart in the present day makes even less sense now. If Hel managed to steal it, surely the heart would be a prized asset upon killing her, so why did it end up donated to some random highschooler? 3 episodes left, so I'm expecting another ass-pull explanation with zero setup/forshadowing. |
