| Quality of anime in 2024 has been very, very good. We had the masterpieces Frieren and Kimi ni Todoke S3, then Apothecary Diaries, Dandadan, Dangers in my Heart S2, Dungeon Meshi, Look Back, Haikyuu Dumpster Battle and for me Astro Note and Metallic Rouge. Plus a whole bunch of decent sequels like Konosuba S3, Mushoku Tensei S2, Danmachi S5. Been a good year for anime imho, maybe the best since I started following seasonal anime in 2019. |

| I can remember back in 2010 people were saying the golden era of anime was the 2005-2008 period and that the financial crisis changed anime things for good. I think this type of questions come from two places; when we first watch anime or get into it everything looks fresh and new so naturally it stirs up more excitement. As we familiarise ourselves with the anime genres then the anime tropes of which there are many become obvious. This can drive people up the wall and lower their opinion of future shows when in reality these tropes always existed. The second factor is we have a tendency to only remember the good and forget the trash that is shown. There has never been a shortage of bad anime it is just we never remember them after a year or two has past meaning we hold the past to a higher regard because while we only remember the good of yesteryear we still remember everything of the present (the good and the bad) so we have a tendency to view the present being worse than it actually is. Actually there is one final thing that may also play a part. For a big bunch of people we tend to get busier with other life commitments as we get older so whilst we could tolerate a slow moving plot line this becomes less tolerable when our time is more constrained. A slow plodding story with an indecisive lead can be more vexing if you got less leisure time and want to use what free time you have effectively. |

| Apparently anime is getting worse, games are getting worse, movies and books and music as well. And every one has the same idea it was better when they where younger. I been growing up with anime sense 1990s and I think anime is equally as good then as now. You had good shows and bad show then as you have now. I think the issue is people love to cling to the past which they have found memory off and they are stuck in the minds sett that their favorite anime they like 20 years ago is still the best anime ever made and anything new is trash. Maybe anime has become worse for you because your stuck in the past or your taste has not changed at all. But I will say to you all as I say to the people complaining MMO game was better in the past. You are free to find a new hobby but please don´t bring your negativity here go cry about it somewhere else. |

You may act all wise and knowing but with your mean score of 8/10 with a such big list of watched anime I can see only a melancholic human being without psycho-emotional development which can't critic anything but people around due lack of principles and standards. | I think its more about quantity, there is more bad anime than ever because there is more anime than ever in general. i think we also get more good anime than ever. And a shocking I too think the its shocking the sheer amount that trend chasing appears to work in anime, its the only reason we have so many isekai with the exact same dumb plot that isekai now meme themselves about. But thats not animes fault. thats the fault of fans. They respond to it, so they get more of it. |

| Anime has become much worse since 2021. There in only couple fine animes each season and there are fewer and fewer of these anime every year. I dont like modern drawing (more computer-generated), plots, characters and in general how modern anime is made. Ok ok lets be honest: at all times most anime that came out were garbage, but in past anime had its own atmosphere, its own unique vibes and there were always very good and even masterpiece anime in most every year. Now this is not like that. Now everything is boring and same. I tried to watch couple ongoings now (jan 2025) that interested me and i didnt like them at all. I dont think that im burnt out, at the beginning of the year i watched Candy Boy and i really liked it, i even rewatched it twice and usually i often watch and rewatch old (2000-2020) animes. But novadays ones are just... everything is very bad. Maybe ive matured and just dont understand modern anime idk But it still seems to me that anime is dead. I would say that the golden era of anime is 2000-2020 (2021), before that time anime was just becoming a genre and after that time anime lost itself. Rest in peace anime. You changed my life but apparently all good things must come to an end. |

| @Old_School_Akira Western cartoons are better I dont really like western cartoons. Last thing i watched was Harley Quinn tv series. I liked main characters (Harley and Ivy) and visual style, but somehow it was not for me. Well also i dont like that western works have a lot of politics and toilet jokes (unfortunately, there are a lot of such jokes in anime now). So im more an anime fan than fan of animation in general |
