| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- After a very disappointing episode (at least to me), it seems they have made yet another great comeback (just like they did after episode 3). The episode revolves around Karl (Johann in English version of the game), a young Imperial Officer under Selvaria's direct command. It is the DLC part of the game, and since I have not played the Selvaria DLC, I am not sure how it plays out in the game, but I am very satisfied with what they did here. Overall, very satisfying episdoe compared to the last one. Plus, the combat scenes (yes, it's not just a filler episode) are IMO much better than the previous ones. Much more brutal than before (but don't expect something like hellsing) but Selvaria is still yet to use her drill...  |

| Subs are taking ages, and now episode 10 is out raw. Shiiiiiiiiiiiit. Hopefully a group puts out 9 and 10 at the same time. EDIT: Seems Ayako's VC translator split. All of the other groups are 3 episodes behind. |

| Awesome episode about villains. But it's somehow hard really to say at them villains from now on.... Well, because they aren't. Selvaria is just loyal to Maximilian, while he's just ambitious and I didn't counted Jaege to be villain from the beginning, he's just lazy guy with laid back attitude. |

| so here we are. finally watched 9 after someone put out a rather nice translation that is as good if not better as the others that have been around. honestly, the "enemy" empire characers of selvaria, jaegr, and karl are more likeable than the gallian douchebags and i'm surprised that they just get one episode. almost makes me wish they'll break canon and make this anime different from the game. blah. |

| Selvaria is awesome end of story. Kinda sucks that the subs are taking so long to come out now. I bet with all the recent conflicts with Funi and "cracking down" on fansubs, groups seem to be jumping ship on the mainstream shows this season. |

| I think this is why the subbers dropped it. It deviated too much from the game. (DLC not included) But I think they did a great job, I mean making you want to play the game. |

| Well we didnt see the gallia side. morer concentrated on the bad guys xD but its shows us how loyal they are to maximillian. and also their is greed for the throne. it was ok. we saw tghe dark side <.< |

| A very surprising turn of event. They introduced characters you never heard of (or maybe just mentioned) in the game, it's really starting to become weird... Now Maximilian is even targeted by his half-brother, does that mean he'll not be the main bad guy in the end ? And so they used Selvaria's DLC missions for this episode... Again a surprise, Karl is almost a traitor (even if he wasn't really informed of the grave matter), and Selvaria isn't even using her lance and shield :( I liked the episode because of the interesting relation between Maximilian and his brother, but i'm sure fans of the game are quite disappointed now. (I'm a fan myself, btw^^) |

| Since i haven't played the game i don't care if the story is different. It's probably even better now that i think about it because game stories are usually not very inspired. Anyway this episode wasn't bad at all. We saw a little of the other side and had some new presented like the fight for the throne in the empire between brothers and we saw a little about that Blue witch girl. As i understand she the only true Valkyria there. So since the anime has the title Valkyria Chronicles am kind of wandering how come she isn't the main protagonist or something. Is Alicia a Valkyria also and she doesn't know? |

I think it would be boring if the Anime was just like the game, I also enjoyed the background on the empire that you frankly rarely ever get in the main game. |

| This episode is very good since it have more Selvaria moments. I am more interesting in both sides, anyway even if it deviated too much from the game. Still, the characters from the Empire are so interesting, and young Selvaria is so cute. |
| I liked this episode. Even though they didn't show the main cast, this one had some good plot threads and action. Plus we got to learn more about the empire. |

| Amusing episode... but I guess I'm still not all too fond of the characters on the "other side" of the war (i.e. Selvaria, the prince -- those opposing Alicia and co.). It's not that they seem to lack emotions, per se, just that they seem to lack the expressiveness... I like Jaeger though, harhar. :D |

I love how the empire seems to be getting more of a focus in the anime. They were very underdeveloped in the game (though I haven't played the Selvaria DLC so that may change my mind). |

| Matsuoka Yoshitsugu has hardly any range as a voice actor, and is grossly over-cast. Yeah. I said it. |
