There's definitely a level of despair to this. I mean, seriously..getting kicked out and then sent to an abyss with monsters. The story is anything but original but hey, it's taking on a mature tone with this. Felt bad for Light though. His desire to live causes him to awaken his powers in the most predictable way possible. But yeah, pretty much the intro episode for introducing the main guys and the fictional world. |

Novelist Shisui Meikyou's series is ONE GODDAMN long synopsis plot in its title alright...generic fantasy slop, or a case of a sheep in wolf's clothing? In a world filled with 9 different races, the humans rank dead last, and the hopeful adventurer of young boy Light wants to make a name for himself, having his magic that's quite the unknown factor alright: his Gift of Unlimited Gacha, that designates him to the lowest F-rank. The Concord of Tribes, of which they accept Light as the human to complete their tribe and have him tag along with them, only to get himself ousted from their party after interrogating him that he's not going to be their "Maestro", death only awaits the useless young boy against a strong tribe seeing him as dead weight. Thanks to a teleportation trap which granted Light escape, his happiness is short-lived against a bunch of demihumans faking their kindness for him, not to mention getting trapped in the deepest part of the Abyss against a Level 1000 dragon. It's only when his Gift unlocks the Level 9999 Super Ultra Rare servant girl of Mei the Ever-Seeking Maid, that Light can finally see what his Gift is made of with her Appraisal, that is fate happening per chance of bad situations bringing him ultra rare luck. Still, Light wanting to toughen himself up to have revenge on his hands, Mei is but only playing a part to fulfill his objectives. Tei's OP is low-key good, unexpectedly. J.C.Staff are really giving their all for this...so what remains of the abysmal quality of One Punch Man when Season 3 comes out in a week's time? |

Another one of those fantasy anime with a "synopsis name" in which the protagonist is mistreated by the other characters in the party and decides to seek revenge, but first he has to become stronger, the animation is moderately good, but the story is very generic, remember that in the manga, in each arc they prolong the fights a lot and this makes them boring, but it is tolerable and I continue reading, will do the same with the anime. |

Not the first time "kick out of party" plot anime, and I'm afraid it's also not gonna be the last time this genre get adapt into anime. With that said, the OP (which serve as ED in this episode) already tell me that at two out of ten gacha servant will be male, at least it's not exclusively female servants. And that shirtless guy is hot! Don't know about that guy in full armor though. Also, I unashamedly think those beastfolk guys are hot too. |

YES! this show is 100% FUCKED UP! the story "based on the adaptation" should be minimum R-17 / R-18 if not straight out R-X now every single girl will be a barbie, and every single "ecchi" scene will be watered down... it's official! the show is DEAD ON ARRIVAL! will he REALLY rise to be the demon lord of the world? .... i highly doubt it.. i'll give it the 3 episodes test, although true be told, i DID skip half the episode since i only wanted to see him using the gacha to summon his first subordinate |

Really are we reappy that desperate to promote GACHA mechanics to our Youth? This looks like Gambling pipeline. Also his whole family is safe at least it seems that way, his goal was to provide to the family, now he can do that with the help of the maid no problem. So we change that goal for revenge... well we shall sewe how this rolls out but im sceptical... |

"Concord of the Tribes", supposed to be the symbol of unity between all races but ended up doing the same way as the society. Well, I wouldn't be surprised if the party ends up being wiped out by the same guy they kicked out but I'm curious on what happens to the city on either the humans becomes equal to other races or they dominate against other races |

@Kurtadam13 His revenge is in multiple parts. 1) Get revenge on his former party who disbanded afterward. At this point in the Light Novel, there are 2 people left he has to get revenge on. 2) find what happened to his family and his village and getting revenge on the people who destroyed the village, kill his parents and make his brother and sister disappear who knows where (he found his brother and sister in the end, but he has a big problem in case of his brother now). 3) Find out who are the Masters/Maestro and why the big head of the world wanted him dead. So it's a 3 parts vengeance that he will take care of over the entire series probably (and by the way, all 3 points are introduced in the Prologue of the series). |

@Kurtadam13 13 or 14 in Japan I think. In term of story, the Light Novel has 3 original arcs that are not in the Web Novel. Reason ? There are more members in the Party in the Light Novel than in the Web Novel. So he had to add new arcs for them as well. |

Well, this was incredibly dumb. It seems like every season we get at least one of these, where the anime is not only trying to fit into an overdone genre (whatever, I'll still watch), but trying SO hard that they use a plot that just nonsensical. No real explanation provided for why humans are looked down on. It's sort of implied that they have naturally low stats, but that is from one half-second mention in one line with no explanation, and again leads to the question of why a human would try and be an adventurer then if they don't have the stats for it. Zero explanation provided for why humans, or at least Light, would leave home to try and be an adventurer in a town where humans are discriminated against. And if adventurers are all non-humans (seemed so based on who he encountered in town, why are humans staffing the adventurers guild? The usual idiotic idea of a child trying to become an adventurer for some reason. No shiat he's getting pushed around. Why did his parents allow him to even try this? Did his parents want him dead too? None of the other adventurers appear to be children (not that that would really make it any less dumb). No reason why Light thought any of this would work out, since he has zero strength, low level, a worthless ability, no experience, and zero confidence. No explanation for why Light never spammed his gacha until RNG gave him something good before now. Sure chances could be low on the surface, but farming low chance RNG through sheer volume is a thing. It's literally what gacha is about. He's had his whole life to spam his ability over and over and over again. Show just ignores the fact that even useless items are actually valuable in volume. Even with just the two things we saw in ep 1, the ability to create an infinite amount of metal (the bent fork) and fertilizer or animal feed (the rotting food) would make Light a lot of money if he wasn't a moron. Yeah, maybe the people in town and in his party are assholes, but it doesn't change the fact that Light appears to be a complete idiot. It would be like if I tried out for a professional sports team and then was somehow surprised when it didn't work out based on my experience sitting on the couch watching anime. Separately, it was amusing in a stupid way that the elf complains about the wolf giving Light wounds not consistent with a monster attack when the wolf was giving him claw and blunt force wounds and the elf was shooting him with arrows. The whole basis for the plot is just...really contrived. Maybe it can be ignored since it's really just a vehicle to get to the story after he gets abandoned, but it just feels incredibly lazy. Like the kind of intro that an AI would write if you fed it a bunch of bad "kicked out of party" intros and it didn't quite get them. |

@amf85 The basic answer to your question of "Why Light became an adventurer, why his parents let him go, etc." is : Light's gift. Light wanted to take profit of his gift to help his poor family (I mean if you don't know how to read, you're not from the wealthiest family on earth). You're right on why the other species despise humans : lowest level curve, low lifespan... the only advantage they have on other species seem to be their gift and the fact they can have Maestro/Masters (whatever that means). |

I generally don’t watch shows that hawk IRL junk, like all those stupid “card” shows. This seemed like it at first but it then turned into something I like: revenge shows with an interesting twist. I know it’s an old, rerun plot but I love them. So 7 to start and I hope I’m not disappointed. |

@groudonvert I get that that is the stated reason (Light says so in the episode), my point is that it makes no sense given that both Light and his family believe his gift is worthless. It would actually make far more sense (and fit with the dark theme the show is trying to create) if his family was secretly sending him to die on purpose to have one less mouth to feed. Also, as I originally posted, if Light wasn't an idiot his ability could generate infinite wealth even on the surface with shiat rolls. Becoming an adventurer was an idiotic idea. |

Fukushuu wo Koinegau Saikyou Yuusha wa, Yami no Chikara de Senmetsu Musou suru
redo of the healer
Maria no Danzai
...
and a couple more .
these are ADULTS ONLY revenge plots, not for whimps .. these keep their main theme as REVENGE, pure and simple!
they don't go "save the world, establish your SHITTY harem, problems with a fucked up romance comedy filth!"
if you can't take how SERIOUS these stories are, and how REVENGE focsued they are ..
then consider LEAVING the revenge genre altogether. it's not for you.
note: if you are going to bad mouth me, over redo of the healer, spare me your PETTY.. and don't bother even replying!
leave the revenge genre to those who understand it.
@Kurtadam13 There's an example of a MC seeking revenge who's not edgy (most of the time) : Elizabeth Leiston and her revenge is brutal. |

I came expecting trash and found...decent trash? Not bad overall. If the story is really structured around the revenge instead of random shit, it might even be good. |

I don't know why people gave it such low rating. I think it's pretty interesting, plus the animation level is good-great. |

“Don’t give him injuries that contradict our story that he was attacked by monsters”, says the Elf who shot him in the leg with an arrow. I mean he was attacked by monsters, don’t forget, the only monsters that exist are those who are capable of compassion, but lack it, and especially those who use it as a façade/weapon. But, when it’s an eye for an eye, all’s fair in love and war. |

the author might be a genius. no need to create a story arc to introduce a new girl to the harem, just make Light pull her |

Well it's good if you can sell the stuff you randomly get. If you want to sell your junk, it's better to just go in a city anyway (and to live in a city you need money somehow).

@groudonvert Yeah, maybe, depending on what he pulls. The metal and food waste he can sell to blacksmiths and farms. Though your post raises a different question. It's hard to believe that the races don't have their own towns. Sure, some towns might be integrated, but most media has race/faction-specific territory. And before you say that humans aren't strong enough, there seems to be ample evidence we've already seen that the other races don't want humans around, so I think it makes even MORE sense for humans to have their own areas. |

Even though the story may be very classic I have to say that I expected worse, for the whole episode we had scenes full of dialogues, but other than that the quality of the animations seems pretty good, so I wouldn't call it entirely mid, i'll give it a try |

@amf85 To be honest, the introduction part of the anime is totally created by the anime, I have absolutely no idea where he met his party in the first place. Not that it's a bad thing in my opinion, they show a bit of his past before the betrayal (also the fact he shared some relationship with the entire crew is quickly shown at some point. Like the dwarf showing him how to create a sword, the demon showing him how to eat properly, the dragonut accepting his cup of tea...). About the faction and territorry, I won't dwell too much in that stuff, but I will just say that it's one of the most fucked-up world to live in as a human. |

@groudonvert Interesting. Since I haven't read the source I'll wait for that to be explained in later episodes. |
