I usually don't watch slice of life anime but is this series worth watching? Why or why not?

I'm just curious, please no spoilers though.

In my opinion... It really didn't live up to its hype. Sure it's fine, good maybe, but I was expecting it to be a lot better.
p.s komi's character gets a little on my nerves and the guy is too goodie goodie.

it's a good slice of life but that's about it. I feel the romance has a long way to go before it could be considered great. this show is more of a filler show that you put on in the background while you do other stuff. it does have a pretty good cast of characters though

Absolutely. Clannad has one of the most lovable casts that you’ll see in any slice of life anime, and for me, it’s my #2 pick of all time: after Hyouka. The insane journey that the MC goes through as well as the side characters from start to finish is much more emotional than Hyouka though, but far out matches Hyouka in terms of character development and plot in general. The reason I picked Hyouka to compare it to is because of its drama/mystery elements. If you want a solid story and a tear jerking romance that has a more classic animation style, I’d definitely recommend Clannad. On the other hand, Hyouka is beautifully animated and also has an interesting MC with a great supporting cast of characters!

Oh whoops! Komi is kinda trash lol compared to what I recommended. Give those a try instead of Komi :) Theres a lot more to gain there.

its a good addaption, and i found it entertaining, but i think if your really not that into slice of life u might want to w8 till theres a second season, as in the manga thats where komi starts to really pick up in my opinion, and its where most of the romance in the manga comes from. either way its a very good show but it can drag and get a bit repetetive at times. still i do recommend it

Idk how manga readers were hyping this garbage up ngl. Komi can’t communicate is one of the most boring slice of life animes that I’ve seen. Imagine demon slayer but in slice of life form. Komi’s social anxiety doesn’t feel realistic. Like yeah she’s decent by looks but like everything else is just bland. Also side characters, also idk how manga readers were comparing this to love is war when it has nothing in comparison, in fact it’s an offense to being compared to love is war. At least love is war has relatable characters and a decent story.

I am not a slice of life fan, but I found it decent. But I definitely would not recommend you to watch it.

-Tohka is better than Kurumi. You can't change my mind.

I personally didn’t think it was worth the watch. I’d recommend other slices of life before watching this show. It came across as kind of soulless and unmemorable.

Thought the characters were very bland and one sided/gimmicky. The comedy didn’t really hit either. The whole anxiety bit didn’t add anything to the story either

I don't know man, it definitely didn't live up to its hype. maybe I'm wrong since I don't watch a lot of slice of life anime. I wouldn't recommend it.

No, not in my opinion. Watch other shows that are about making friends instead. I never laughed out loud with this show, only smirked or chuckled rarely.

Its decent I guess. I mean if u enjoy their humor you might actually like it. In my case, I thought It was kinda boring and I found most of the characters to be pretty annoying, but as I said it will mostot depend on your type of humor.

Definitely, and from what I'm reading it's not a very popular opinion but I think that komi can't Communicate is a great anime and 100% worth the watch. It's special in a unique way that no other slice of life/romance that I've watched so far comes close to being comparable to this anime sure it has a strange quirkiness to it that's not for everyone but at its core it's a cute romance anime that just gets better and better by the episode and the second season/part is where the anime really starts to lean more into the romance part of the anime and it doesn't disappoint so I recommend you give komi a shot

I'll admit that slice of life is my favorite genre
and this one feeds me all the warm n cozy feels
that draw me to this genre
it's slice of life
if you don't like slice of life
you might not like it
but
for someone who loves slice of life
I love this show

I've read like 20 volumes of the source and watched both parts and it's honestly really good, so I'd say it's both worth watching and reading. It also helped my adhd brain because the chapters and scenes weren't super dragged out and long as hell which is an added bonus.

Yes. This show was so wholesome and chill. If you want anime where you can chill a bit than watch it or atleast try few eps. Oh and animation in ss1 is toptier

Yes, worth it!
Reasons: this is really adorable to see Komi taking the first steps towards healing her social anxiety, her relationship with Tadano is really cute and has a lot of romantic subtext, and finally most characters are pretty quirky and funny.

personally, this was my "bocchi the rock" anime, if you know what i'm trying to get at.

however i do think this show gets carried by relatability. if you can relate to the social anxiety/being mute, then i think its a fine show to watch.

I actually really like it, especially season 2 where the romantic aspect gets bigger. I think the anime is good but nothing earth shattering

I think it's worth watching, I had a great time while watching it and I enjoyed the humor a lot, and it's basically a series you can watch when you wanna relax.

each ep has deep meaning. if you are ready to understand the personality of each and every character you will probably love it.

For me it was outstanding anime. simply perfect.

There were some dips in animation, mostly in season two but for the most part I think Komi is a great show, really fun, charming, wholesome and expressive.

It doesn’t have what usually makes anime fans gush since there’s no explosive action, tear inducing drama, major plot twists and so on, but if some wacky characters, an adorable main duo and funny, relaxing and aesthetically pleasing episodic shows appeal to you, I’d say it’s worth checking out.

I watched it weekly and I enjoyed it. It’s wholesome slice of life and it definitely has some touching moments and funny moments. I like Komi and Tadano as well as Najimi. Of course it’s exaggerated and there’s some cringe humor but it’s still worth watching.

i think komi is quite easy to watch. it has a few unique characters which make the show quite refreshing in comparison to your normal every day slice of life and the animation is very visually appealling. i think its one of the better slice of lifes and so if you are looking to get into the genre or are looking for something nice to watch in between more intense shows then i would highly recommend it.

It’s good. Heartwarming and all around hilarious. I love Najimis character. The opening episode, right down to its music and animation is beautiful. It’s got some of the typical character archetypes you find in most School anime, but each of those characters is wonderful and unique with plenty of development. If you’re looking for something intellectually stimulating, this isn’t for you. I just disagree with the people that said it didn’t live up to its hype because it’s definitely a gem IMO.

The anime failed to carry over the manga's charm. The manga also drastically dropped in quality lately. So as an ex-komi-san fan no i wouldn't recommend it especially to someone who doesn't enjoy slice of life.

Some Characters in the show is just weird like bruh..

i started the manga from when it began, back then komi had a moped ( was was completely removed ever since it actually started)

now due to the manga itself being slow, and very hard to understand at first, so much chaos, and stuff happening at once.
it was difficult to make a faithful adaptation to an anime

the animation is beautiful, sound, and character design is spot on, yet it feels rush and clustered.

season two was way worse, animation was borderline terrible, but i found it funny than bad.

so i wouldnt suggest watching it, unless you really like the manga, otherwise it wouldnt be ... how do i say this ... nice to watch, kinda loses its charm and why people like the story to begin with.

more over it gets better when another character comes in, but that would be S3, sooo .... yeah not the best choice unfortunately, as much as i want it to be.

Komi San is a comedy series that literally has only 1 joke that is reused throughout the whole series. It has zero creativity in humor and gets boring and repetitive really fast. I really don’t recommend.
