| Seriously, what did Rintarou think his mom was gonna say when he asked about other bakeries? That’s basically cheating on your husband lmao. The obvious answer was “our cakes are the best”, like what else could she even say. But knowing Waguri, she’s probably tried every cake on the menu anyway. So yeah... maybe the real move is going to the kitchen itself and learning from the man who makes them all: Rintarou’s dad. And okay, I’m not gay, but damn, his seiyuu absolutely crushed it. That voice was sexy as hell. Gotta say, this stuff is not for the weak at all. Think Rintarou can kinda see why his dad looked like he was on his deathbed when he first came out of the kitchen, dude’s running on barely any energy, but still manages to text Waguri and finally get her to meet up on her birthday. And oh my gosh, her reaction was so cute, kicking her feet and all, but real props go to Subaru here honestly. Thanks to both Rintarou and her, we got to see her smiling like this.  Honestly, no smile even comes close to the one she had after Rintarou finally met her and officially gave her the cake. That whole scene, him handing it over and saying everything, was so wholesome that I almost started kicking my feet like Waguri a few minutes earlier lol. Ofc she loved the cake. I doubt there’s any cake out there she wouldn’t, but this one especially sweet, because it was made with nothing but heart by Rintarou himself. Hopefully even sweeter because he himself said he wants going to get better and better <3 |

| Rintaro is stressing over what to give Kaoruko for her birthday present in two weeks, and can't think of anything other than cakes. He notes that he is now more interested to get to know her better. He asks Kyoko for advice, and she suggests him making a cake for her, with help from his father, Keichiro. He constantly has insufficient sleep because of his strong passion towards cakes. Rintaro asks him to guide him in making a cake. Keichiro asks about the message he wishes to convey, and he says he wishes to show his appreciation, and to see her smile. Keichiro agrees to teaching him. Kyoko recalls how Keichiro said something similar to her in the past. Rintaro is so exhausted working on the cake, he is seen sleeping in class, with dark eye bags. Subaru asks to celebrate Kaoruko's birthday with her on June 22. When her friends from Kikyo ask to join, Subaru requests for them to reschedule it to the day after, since she has pre-existing plans. She texts Rintaro to inform him that Kaoruko will be free on the 22nd. Rintaro messages Kaoruko to ask if she's available on that day, to pass her something. She is initially surprised, and upon further thinking, realizes that this has been planned by Subaru. She calls her, and Subaru admits that she enjoys seeing Kaoruko talking about the person she likes. Kaoruko is excited that she gets to see Rintaro on her birthday. It's the day of Kaoruko's birthday, and Keichiro finally approves of Rintaro's cake. Keichiro observes that Rintaro has been smiling more recently. On the way to meet her, Rintaro is anxious about Kaoruko's reaction towards the present. He musters up the courage to walk up to her and wish her 'happy birthday'. Wishing to see the cake immediately, she brings him to her favorite park. He admits that he prepared the cake to express his gratitude towards her. She promises that she will savor the cake, and will call him later that night. Kaoruko tries the cake before her family members. She fully enjoys the cake, describing it as having a "gentle taste" and "filling (her) heart with warmth".   |

| C’mon Rintaro, you work at a cafe and your girl loves sweets, you already know what to get her for her bday lmao. Bro is such an over thinker, but he’s an earnest sweetheart. it’s no wonder Kaoruko fell for him. Even though he didn’t get to see it, Kaoruko’s face of pure elation when she ate the cake made all the work worth it. Lowkey my fave part of this episode was seeing Rintaro’s dad! I was thinking his mom was a single mom lmao, turns out dude is just a workaholic. I admire the dedication both he and Rintaro’s mother have to their craft, it’s a great example to set for Rintaro. His dad might not pick up on all the subtleties, but he could clearly tell Rintaro has found someone who makes him happy and did a good job helping convey that through the cake. Subaru playing best wingman and clearing the 22nd so Rintaro could give Kaoruko the cake on her actual birthday was really sweet too. “I like seeing you talk about the person you like” yea man if you get ONE friend, one true friend like Subaru in your life, you are extremely blessed. I’d honestly start crying if someone told me something like that because you know they truly care about you and your happiness. Best girl. Couldn’t think of a better way for Kaoruko to spend her special day than with her favourite person, at her favourite place and capping it off with her favourite activity, eating 🤣 beautiful episode as per usual. I love this couple sm. |

| Lovely episode, and credits to the mother for the wonderful idea of making a cake! Rintarou was spiralling for real for a bit there, lol. Looks like the cake training arc with Papa Rintarou isn’t over just yet, seems like a nice career path to consider if it goes well. First time seeing Rintarou’s dad since the recollection from little Rintarou. And boy, he’s busy but great to see man’s living his passion and is willing to share that effort with family. Seems like he most likely hasn’t quite figured out that the friend is actually a girl though, lol. His wife did give him enough clues especially that couch tv reality show scene, so I’m sure it’ll start clicking at some point eventually. Good looking cake and it was sturdy enough when she had it despite the heat in Japan even in mid-Sept, xD. Subaru-chan with the winger role this episode, not bad at all! 海 - sea - from the line chats in the boys group. Ohho! Mandatory beach ep, eh. |

| A wholesome birthday episode. We start with rintaro racking his head for a present for kaorukos birthday which he knows now thanks to our wingman subaru. Its even more difficult for him since he seldom celebrates birthday apart from his families, which makes his yearning to know about kaoruko even more, which is a good progress. He then goes to his mama for advice & also to get a nice cake for waguri which has a unique taste, mom ofcourse is happy to hear that & suggests him to bake one. Rintaro having no experience in baking cakes is then further suggested by mama to learn it from her beloved "cake nerd" i.e her hubby aka rintaros papa. I was excited for this ngl cause they blurred out his face in the earlier episodes so i wanted to see this great man whos so loving & supportive of his wife while running an succesfull bakery too. B Well he does give a little scary vibes at first cause of his burnouts, no wonder mama didnt want to introduce him to rintaros friends in that state xD But hes actually gorgeous & handsome with all the right masculine features.  It was nice knowing that he was the one who baked cake for rintaros friends, hes so caring. Anyways when rintaro requests his dad, to teach him. Dad in turn asks some really nice but important questions, which showed his experience in life and also the passion he holds for baking. Rintaro answers honestly about making kaoruko smile & making her happy. Dad accepts the answers & ready to give him special training for 2 weeks.  Mom was so happy & all smiles watching her 2 boys bond together. Wholesome family moment <3 The training leaves rintaro drained & exhausted af, ofc the art of baking is not easy especially training under a passionate professional like his dad. The girls in kaoruko want to celebrate her birthday but thankfully wingman subaru saves the day & delays celebrations by a day cause she knows rintaros plans. She also relays it to rintaro as well. W Subaru. Rintaro makes a plan with waguri to meet on which she was quite flustered about seeing her "plants" typo. RIntaro buckles up again for training. Meanwhile kaoruko figures out how rintaro knew about her birthday and calls subaru. Love how subaru responds to her question, showing the trust she has in rintaro & how much she cares for kaorukos happiness. Subarus growth makes me smile honestly. Their friendship is just chefs kiss. Kaoruko then is all smiles & giggles about seeing rintaro like a pure maiden experiencing her first love. I mean she practically is one. Rintaro finally uses all his training experience and carefully prepares a cake, which is then approved by Dad on a delightful note. Proud of my boy. Dad also notices rintaro has started smiling to which mom happily agrees :') Rintaro meets up with kaoruko & wishes her properly while handing her the presen which wagrui is delighted to receive.  If i could see that heartwarming smile, even i would go through 2 weeks of hell training honestly. its worth it. Waguri is so excited she wants to eat the cake asap & suggest to go to the playground which her favorite place of memories & now she wants to share it with rintaro & make memories with him as well. Adorable. When Rintaro revealed that he made the cake himself, i love how waguris expression changed while all the background noises went silent. Nice little detail. The smiles on their faces speak everything and Rintaros inner satisfaction of making her smile. Mission accomplished halfway for now. Oh yea i forgot to add, the cake looked gorgeous, like rintaro again well done. Waguri gets home and after some treasure pictures of the cake, readies herself to eat rintaros cake. (should have worded that properly) The eating of the cake, to her reminsicing all of rintaros words, his gratitude & thoughtfulness flowing together creating that happy bliss moment for her was a sight to watch. That smile spoke volumes of how much she appreciated this present from him. Back at rintaros place our boy is nervously waiting for the respons and his parents obviously notice this making his mom worried while dad was like "thats normal"  The reactions were hillarious, i love the parents. Anyways rintaro finally receives the awaited call from waguri, who expresses her happiness on eating the delicious cake which also warmed her heart. My boy almost cried hearing that :') gj rintaro! Apparently waguris family also ate the cake and enjoyed. Bros already impressing his future in laws i guess xD Rintaros little promise to make waguri more cakes was wholesome. He then goes down and shares this little happy news to his parents who were obviously happy for him especially the proud dad who knew his cake was delicious. They further encourage rintaro to enjoy his summer vacation as much as possible & giving him the space and freedom he needs. Rintaro is really blessed with great parents. Tbh would love to see a side story where they show the parents past and their love life, that would be a great watch. Anyways great episode. Love to see more of rintaros family and their bonding. They are really precious & hope to see more of rintaros parents & his brother too one day maybe? |

| Im sorry I gotta be the one to say this but is Keiichiro okay? Like I get having a passion but like does he really overwork himself that hard like dam. I respect the dedication though, nice to finally see Rintaro's dad I just hope he don't work himself down too hard. Subaru continuing to be the best friend ever, like she really had all those girls shift their plans to the next day so she could see Rintaro. She knows what Kaoruko loves the most I guess. Not surprising though that Kaoruko figured her out. Now beyond that I suppose theres just the brother left to see and then the Tsumugi family has been fully shown looks like we may be getting a beach episode next guess we gotta throw in a couple troupes here and there. Not saying thats bad of course |

| I was a bit bummed out by the still images used for the training montage, but I'm glad the actual cake baking part got some motion! It looked great. And with the final product, the animators really made Rintaro look like a pro baker. I was almost afraid something would go wrong, like maybe Rintaro or Kaoruko would drop the box while in transit. Beautiful episode, lame stills notwithstanding. Every other scene today made me laugh. The father son relationship was hilarious. When I wasn't laughing, I was gawking at the incredible art. |
| I thought this episode would be really impactful, but my expectations weren't met. Regardless, I liked this episode. I got to see many other sides of Waguri. And finally, I got to see Keiichiro. Bro, he's so obsessed with cake that he didn't have time for screen time before this episode. I was really happy to see Rintarou smile a lot in this episode. Subaru gave him the best assist. |

| Wow, I’ve never rewinded so much watching an episode for the first time. I had to feel the moments again and again while trying to take in more of the details. The dynamics are so relatable, didn’t have any frustration/antagonist in this episode. I wish I could give it a 100/5, it didn’t feel short but I wanted it to go on forever. I need more of this |

| Yeah, of course he went with cake. There's no better present for a cake-loving girl. Also, Rintaro's dad is hardcore. Being a baker's son I thought Rintaro would already have some experience baking cake but apparently not. I guess he simply wasn't too interested in it before meeting Kaoruko. It's good that he's already changing that. Subaru is the GOAT. I like how she's being a wingman for Rintaro lol. I think she has done more than enough to make up for her past attitude. Everything she's doing now just feels like a bonus. Shows how good a friend she is. This was another lovely episode. Wonder what's gonna happen next. |

| Amazing ep Pops is finally here, with a even more serious face than Rintaro, lol. His father so real for helping Rintaro convey the right things through his baking. You can compare it to when ppl taste ur food and they ask what is the "secret ingredient?". W Subaru for the the assist. Kaoruko smiling got me smiling ear to ear as well, haha. Rintaro's parents are simply goated and there is no in between. This ep adapted 28-31 with sum minor stuff removed to save time. Atp we have 2 eps left and with ep 12, I would hope that they could get to 10/10 |

| Finally, at long last we are met with Rintarou's biological father. Wow, it's really heartwarming to see that both of his parents are so supportive, even emotionally and psychologically—well, we've already seen his very supportive mother in the early episodes. Overall, it's so touching to see such a harmonious family. I really wish my family could be like this. |

| Rintarou is lucky to have great parents who support him all along, he could make his first handmade-cake for Kaoruko's birthday and she complimented about how delicious it was! I can't stop smiling already. Only two episodes left, I'd like to know if it will end at the confession~ |
