There's a serious lack of effort being made in these early episodes of this spin off of Ousama Ranking, that leaves me questioning the efforts of the creative staff at hand, I'm left quite baffled tbh at what I'm watching, the most basic and bland, copy paste mini plots you can think of, stuff that's been done hundreds of times, yet with little desire to try and at least add their little dose of flavor, and somewhat make it their own. Many anime have successfully taken tropes, played around with them and created an authentic experience that didn't seem copy/pasted.

Take that first story for example, a mini plot that hasn't aged well at all, an easy cop out with the writing and script, Wit Studio's collective mind is obviously elsewhere in this present time. A very childlike story if we're being completely honest, pretty disingenuous from the staff, is this a mature, violent series or a children's fairy tail? Let's at least try and make up our mind here. Yes, these side stories are more SOL oriented, that doesn't mean the tonal shifts have to be this jarring.

Demon Slayer has garnered a lot of attention in recent times about producing a lot of cash grabs, how does something like this compare?

I give this Bait post a 2/10.
If you're going to write bait this long, make sure the post is provocative enough for the reader to not get bored.
Try harder next time!

That's not my intention though? My posts shouldn't come across as provocative, unless you're very thin skinned and/or disagree with the premise of the thread. That's simply on you though.

This thread is a discussion on cash grabs and how comparable they are.

I am with Piromysl on this one.

But I'd say keep up the good threads.

It gives me points on the fantasy anime league.

cash grab? To sell what? More like risk taking.

They're trying to keep the franchise alive until the manga content stacks enough to make season 2.

Didn't read anything OP said, because there's no need to. Just to answer the question in the title:

We live in a world where animation studios get away with releasing a movie with canon content first and then release the same content in the franchise's next season, so nope. Not by a longshot.

Unfortunately, only episode discussion posts count towards FAL. It might be time to sub out Ousama Ranking

What a juvenile response.
Imaging thinking holding a critical opinion is a bait post.

Personally while I think OP is overzealous in labeling it a "cash grab", I do agree it feels half-hearted. It's like watching a One Piece filler arc.
I just can't bring myself to care about it.

So? Every movie cinematically release eventually airs in tv or on VOD.

Well yeah, I think this was mostly a low effort cash grab. If they had only made the last episode as OVA, that would've been enough, all those filler episodes were not necessary.
