| Decided to watch a supposed "classic"; Pumping Iron (1977)- The lead-up to the Mr. Olympia body-building world championship in Pretoria, South Africa, featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Lou Ferrigno, and Franco Columbu, among others. It's an amazingly bland and colorless documentary. We don't learn a single damn thing, and are instead treated to endless shots of competitors working out and practicing poses, all to 70's porn music. I'm also not fond of them creating artificial villains by forging the facts, the worst example being Ken Waller. The only redeeming feature is Arnie, whose funny, vivacious, incredibly charismatic persona provides the sole entertainment in the picture. Still, mediocre and disengaging. | I rewatched Shall We Dansu? earlier. Naoto Takenaka has such an amazing screen presence in every film I have seen him in. Hell, whenever someone mentions the 20th Century Boys films he's the first person that pops into my head and he was only in it for about 20 seconds! Wow, sorry it has taken me so long to reply to this. Donnie Darko is well worth watching. It is perhaps a tad overrated, but a completely engrossing and unforgettable film nevertheless. The story is extremely intricate and involved and the characters are a very interesting bunch. I recommend the directors cut if you can get it. |

| More spectacular than Kurosawa's Seven Samurai? Or are we talking the anime? If the former then that's quite a feat! Seven Samurai is one of the most spectacular films I have ever had the pleasure of watching. |

| Map of the Sounds of Tokyo art wise it was excellent but story wise it wasn't as good.. It had a lot of places it could go but it didn't go where it should have... plus, there were 2 random scenes that had nothing to do with the plot with women rubbing lemons on themselves and 4 sex scenes. jeeze. |
