| The entire site is falling behind with just about everything. Messages, friend requests, anime updates, editing comments, etc, all take minutes to update. |

| we've had database lag before... db servers just choked on big updates combined with lots of traffic and couldn't keep up... it's recovered now that it could process everything. |

| I was able to clean up my Inbox finally. :) Good Job. And as far as my usage, things overall seem to be running very smooth currently. Keep up the good work! |

FWIW, conversion between RDBMS's is enough of a pain as it is; doing such a major change would require them probably having to rewrite significant portions of the site backend in order to make it Postgre compatible. At least the site isn't running on MS Access though. :| |

Overall has an awful reply time and I can't update properly my lists, plus my manga list is not properly (can't even see my reading list) , or not even shown, even I refresh it every 5 seconds.... You still having MySQL server errors... please fix them. If needed take down the best server or the whole site to run a test and get rid of the problems which provoke, for example multiple posts due to horrible reply times Signs, Green |

| If you look closely it seems that they must be running multiple database servers and the servers are having trouble replicating changes. I been trying to update an anime on my list, sometimes when I refresh the change is there, sometimes it goes away. |

Problem is, it's so badly configured (and poorly planned) that it takes a long time before anything gets updated correctly. Come on, MAL, you've been around for, what? 3 to 4+ years? You should of seen how big the site would of gotten after the second year and planned accordingly. Hire network teams and programmers who knows what they're doing if you must because this is getting out of control. Speaking of getting out of control, I still find it funny how we (the users) have to click a link to reset the counters because of this site's buggy counter system. No user should need to manually reset the counters themselves, just another example of how buggy the site currently is. /me gets off his soap box. |
