What a cute, wholesome and sad backstory, it's just too tragic... A little happy family that just want to do over and live a peaceful life away from chaos. How would Little Johnny take it if he learned that Ghostblade was the one who did it... and how would Ghostblade react when he learned Little Johnny is Sheng's son...

So Big Johnny is an Alien, well he does look like one... were the spacecraft in that place the same one that Loli's Dad discovered? or it could be a different one. Sheng was working for Shang De?

I love how Little Johnny became friends with those kids, tell me they survived and that nothing more tragic happens.
@Aleksu knowing Wang Yi (Ghostblade), I doubt he'd give a fuck. He'd be like "oh well, time for some fucking clean-up". I mean, his episode does quite literally say that he can't feel emotions (other than when it comes to Wang Nuonuo), so....

@--Darhk-- No, that can not be. Look at the timeline. Cyan and New E-soul have similar ages.
@Shiro_Asaigawa E-Soul's big fight (the one with Old E-soul Vs. Zero) takes place in Year 2 AC. While the plane crash in in Year 23 AC. The E-Soul vs. E-Soul fight happened in Year 36, side-by-side with Cyan's first ever concert. Concept art reveals that Yang Cheng was 22 during his "debut" as E-Soul. And if I were to take a guess, Cyan would be around 17 during that time, so no... they're not the same age. In fact, from this latest episode, looks like even Lil Johnny (who I thiught would be the same age as Cyan) might be a few (say 3-4) years older than her.

If Big Johnny was found at a crashed alien ship, I have to wonder if it was the same ship material Loli's suit was made out of. Either way, quite a find by Sheng.

It's interesting to see another X with Vortex. Since we already know Ghostblade is the true killer of Little Johnny's dad. It's quite misfortunate of him that he's the current target of Big Johnny's kaiju wrath.

Also, it seems like not even superpowers can be the panacea for all of life's ills. It's tragic that Sheng couldn't save his wife by going the hero route.

Ooooooh great observation!!!

To be frank some of these episodes would benefit from being a 45 minute to an hour special because how are we supposed to comment on them when we only have half the information on hand?
So Little Johnnies father got murdered and we've two suspects on the scene, Vortex and Ghostblade. Everyone probably assumes Ghostblade is the culprit because he is an assassin without much of a concious, at least in the old days. But then Vortex seems like a real cold customer so maybe it was actually him?

we saw it a few episodes ago in Ghost Blade's arc that he was the one contracted to kill him

Interesting so even if you have many people who believe in you it's pointless if you don't believe in yourself. That makes me think of Yang Cheng or the current e-soul. He might now be the legendary Hero E-soul but still I don't think he believes in himself so I don't think he can become a true hero right now.

We also see Vortex another former X or well a current x in Johnnies backstory. Looks like though he's taking the blame for killing Johnnies Dad right now. Sheng or Johnnies dad was also a former X and seems to have healing powers.
Ghostblade is still there as well.

Also we got confirmed Big Johnny is an alien.

It's also why I believe that the current X isn't known by anyone because his power comes from believing in himself alone. now, Idk if he will be the final villan, because his belief in himself will be from a narcissistic standpoint, or if he will be the one with the final arc, making all the other heroes even mire powerful by teaching them the power to believe in yourself, in order to fight fear itself. But I definitely think the number on his wrist is simply 1: himself lol

After this anime ends, I'm hoping someone who's smarter than me can come up with a timeline showing events as they happen in chronological order. I'm following along pretty well I would say, but I love getting the chance to put stuff in a linear order afterwards.

I miss the 3D animation, the show started out with a lot of different animation styles in the early episodes, but now it's been regular 2D animation for quite a few episodes...

Sheng's design seems like it was slightly inspired by Minato Namikaze/adult Naruto

I'm kind of curious as to how Sheng and Vortex got their powers. Like, what action would make enough people trust you to... Swirl stuff around???

There was also a pretty important info drop this episode regarding trust. Apparently, trust can't give you any powers if you don't believe in yourself. Yang Cheng getting called out again lol

Damn so that guy Ghostblade killed was Sheng, Little Johnny's father. Also that thing from before was Big Johnny. Again love how every story is connected to one another and we can connect the dots as we see more stories. I really want an alien pet like big johnny. Where do I find one.

Ok, the show took a while to build up but I think the writing is actually good now. The story structure of hopping between characters and timeframes is really paying off. Each arc is genuinely getting better. The first arc nearly made me give up the whole thing, but I'm glad I gave the show another shot. Little Johnny's dad was so sweet. The inevitability of his death at the hands of a character we already know is really impactful. And the reveal that the kaiju was Big Johnny is the cherry on top. Love that things are all coming together. Love the building of intrigue and conspiracy. Fingers crossed that the trajectory of the writing quality continues.

^ I'm the opposite, actually have come to like it less since the first 2 arcs. If not for the interwoven plot points between arcs, it would basically be episodic in nature and would have had a much more difficult time keeping my attention. For me it all comes down to how majorly interconnected each story is; if every arc is a piece of a puzzle to one large overarching narrative, big W. However if the purpose is nothing more than just to say: "hey remember that thing that happened in the last arc, well it's happening here now too! wow!", then big L.

The last episode's supposed to be an absolute banger. Idk if it's just an individually impressive episode, or if it's one that does that AND ties everything together finally. Really hoping it's the latter.

We basically already knew that Ghostblade was Sheng's killer, however the mystery remains as to who was really behind it. The biggest reveal was probably that Big Johnny is an alien, which ties nicely in to all of the present day plot. Aside from that, seeing Little Johnny's childhood was quite nice, especially the part where he befriended his former bullies.

I wonder if Ghostblade knows that Ah Sheng is Little Johnny's dad :(

So that big black monster was actually Big Johnny.

I didn't really care for Little Johnny, so I wasn't excited for his arc, but this episode was surprisingly enjoyable. It was mostly really wholesome and sweet.

Got another in-series reveal of another former X, like his design and powers, but he is such an obvious douchebag. Big Johnny is actually the monster we've seen already in episode 12! Well, it was pretty obvious they had at least had a connection (especially with how everything in the series has a connection to each other).

big johnny is cute, bit disappointed with its battle form tho felt very basic, i see the beauty of simple things but this just looks like houndoom from ali express

His father's death is very sus, #1 alrdy left
glad that the villagers didnt get hurt but must be traumatising for the kids who befriended lil johnny
