| MAL is a privatized city. Residents don't vote for who is the mayor. Instead, there is a city board of directors voted in by major share holders to the city. Crime peaked very recently, but after investors were concerned this would lead to increased out migration that would impact the bottom line, the police force was expanded and law and order has been effectively brought to the streets. Much more responsive than democratic governance if you ask me. It's a bit of a declining city. Shitpost manufacturing jobs were lost to much bigger mega cities like Redditopolis, and many people left to there as result, but the city is still managing to get by. Sadly, the education system doesn't appear to be very functional in this city. Instead of teachers teaching things like math, here they teach you about waifus. |
