I'm not sure what to make of it really. The show started out strong but seemed to lose it's way toward the end, resulting in an ending that feels slightly off, and doesn't really have much to say.

this anime f**ked by the director and the studio together. What a wasted opportunity. It needs an extra effort to make this source story this bad. Gz director and mappa (!) lmao

this could have been easly 9.5 but because of the director and studio it is 7.5

A college buddy of mine really loved this anime but over time we split apart in an ugly fashion so I never really continued with the final two episodes because it reminded me of the time I spent with him but….. recently I was able to forgive him and he sincerely feels remorse for what happened so I finally finished this series at long last, haha! Glad I did because it looks like Hyakkimaru ultimately chose not to pursue revenge and instead willing to look past his father’s misdeeds ❤️🙏

Interesting premise, but it turns into a dull, clichéd story with low-budget animation and some questionable dynamics that make you wonder who the target audience really is. The plot moves forward thanks to constant deus ex machina
