Guys I have a theory.
At start of the OP X version, we see the top 10 heroes ranking which E-soul is rank 10 and Lin Ling isn't even in it, I think it is the Rankings after the Tournament

E-soul probably didn't participate in the Tournament, as we can see at the end of ep 24, E-soul is with Rock at Zero Statue, which makes him automatically looses.
As for Lin Ling, he maybe wanted revenge on E-soul for killing Moon, so he left the Tournament mid-fight and find E-soul.

Afterwards, maybe E-soul and Lin Ling fought and E-soul won, allowing him to stay in the Top 10.

@DuyDLz E soul is out of the Heroes tournament because resurrected Old Nice took his place.

@ZXEAN I don't think that is the case, since most of Nice's fans switched to Lin Ling so he can't possibly gain Trust Value that quickly, considering how he couldn't even enter top 10 and most people think he was dead already.

Also, we do hear people call for E-soul at the Tournament and how everyone are surprised by Nice's return, which mean The Commission didn't give any information about it. Of course this is just another theory, I hope ss2 will come out soon to fill the void after today ep 🙏

will there be a season 2?

TBHX = best anime of 2025.

I see everyone going crazy over the action set pieces, fair enough, but this episode didn't tell us anything about X's background and also made the plot a lot messier/worse. They literally had to split it into the ED to make time with a few bread crumbs as hints.

Action aside, this episode was a major let down for me. We get this giant exposition dump reviewing the timeline that was mostly unnecessary since we already know what happened and this entire time X is talking about how Rock is trying to revive Zero and I'm wondering during the explanation: So, why didn't you do something before now to stop Rock yourself if you already knew what he is trying to do?

It's like the director/writers were so focused on "farming aura" (getting really sick of that concept tbh) that they forgot to ask themselves that simple question. It certainly doesn't seem like he plans to join Rock in his goal, otherwise why spend literally 5 minutes recapping most of the story with dominoes falling towards the end to suggest they're building towards some major conclusion? Even if the heretofore unexplained "Spotlight Organization" is involved, you're telling me you cannot interrogate Rock for more information to stop his plans before removing him from the picture?

I also don't know why anyone thought resurrecting nice was a good idea. The public already knows he killed himself, why would they react positively to someone being brought to life if you're worried about X becoming a second Zero? Doesn't that make the idea of heroes becoming godlike even more prevalent within the public's consciousness?

Oh yeah, apparently all those people attacking X in public were somehow never video taped and posted to social media or anything to arouse suspicion for what's going on. It's like the episode was purposefully ignoring the various plot holes it was creating in favor of aura maxing.

I'm really disappointed in this episode. Going into today I thought it was a 9 and possibly a 10 despite some of my reservations, but after this I can't rate it higher than an 8. I was worried from the jump that they wouldn't sufficiently develop all the characters enough within only 24 episodes and my fears have come to pass. Dragon Boy, now X, and even Queen to an extent needed more time than was allowed in the show. Between that and the various plot issues they introduced in this episode and already happened in previous episodes this one fell short of it's full potential.

Hopefully season 2 addresses some of these issues, but the season needs to stand on it's own 2 feet against the expectations it set. You can't excuse it as something that will happen later when there's no source material holding them back from dealing with those problems right now. It's a cop out to say "wait for season 2" when sufficiently introducing us to the character's backgrounds was the entire stated goal of this season.

Man I need the next season now.

that's why I didn't want the story that viewers can vote online for their favorite hero for season 2 because of that the directors decided to remove e-soul from the top 10 while I remember at the end of the promotional video of x 2 years ago we can see the countdown of a few seconds to present that the tournament was going to start soon and we can see the presentation of the top 10 and e-soul is part of it and not nice but because of the votes nice came back as if by magic and reached the top 10 which he had never succeeded before as if by magic while he had no confidence rating, this anime which shone for its scenario will fall into the pitfalls of classic shonen because of this story of online votes

@ROVI65 Dragon boy is at the last position. E soul is at 6th or 7th position. So I don't think viewers vote effect the plot of this season.

@ZXEAN Dragon boy is third in the ranking e-soul 9th in your opinion which is more logical nice manages to pass third from nowhere or manages to pass ninth from nowhere? and as I said we had already teased the participants of this tournament with the trailer of x and it was e-soul

@ROVI65 Dragon Boy was No.15 Hero before touching 3rd spot. Heroes ranking fluctuate a lot. Moreover Nice was supposed to be the part of S2 from the very beginning that's why they included him in the online ranking.

@Seansy whatever u are questioning is the point. This whole episode open up perfectly to close. The director left u enough bread crumbs so that you will come back for more. The fact that you know as much about X and as little is so good. Clearly an intentional way to tell the audience there is more to X to look forward to.

@G_Aker That's BS. You can have some cliffhangers to leave the audience wanting more without simultaneously making the plot so much worse/messier. I'm not complaining about the ending of the episode, I'm complaining about everything outside of the action that led up to it.

This anime was originally planned as a 48-episode project split into two seasons, which explains why many questions remain unanswered for now. The season finale did exactly what it needed to do; delivering a powerful cliffhanger that not only wrapped up this arc but also built anticipation for Season 2. It leaves the audience eager to see how the story will unfold.

@Seansy ¿? Crack, from the beginning they are pure presentation arcs and raised premises, the developments and answers made it clear that they will be in season 2. The only way it will disappoint you is if you have made wrong ideas about what this episode would be apart from the fact that it does not resort to overexposure for the clues about answers that they begin to give, such as X's powers. It drives us crazy, because they have connected brilliantly and have left everything for a promising development in the 2nd season, It will have 24 chapters, many episodes to spare to focus on the plot and subplots. I don't know why the eagerness to want everything in a single season when it is never about arcs of developments and conclusive answers.
And if you can "excuse" it, because not everything should have a source material, they already have the story as it will be, they only write the script and it is already in production. What happened was that he went back to the past and we came back to the present, so the unfinished business isn't a problem; it's just the material to unravel everything that's behind it for Season 2.
